Wilder literally signed to fight Ortiz instead of Whyte. Yes, to some it seems illogical to fight a better opponent for less money. But when you want to prove your greatness, that is what you do

I know most wilder fans think Ortiz is harder but I can't see it to be honest. I've seen both fight on several occasions and whyte looks far more dangerous o me. Particularly in the last few fights Ortiz has looked really slow, the fights on hearns cards he was absolutely dreadful. Add to that he's now been inactive and - for all the criticism Joshua seems to be getting for fighting "old man klitschko" ; Ortiz never made the top. His record is actually similar to wilder in that he hasn't fought anyone of any note, Jennings probably being his toughest fight.

Only way to really know will be Ortiz to fight whyte but I suspect wilder knocks him out early then his career is close to over. Wilder could well fight whyte also though so we might see a better comparison with how they both get on against him. Whyte is more suspect to be hit, it has proven against both Joshua and chisora that he can take several punches.

He was going to get stripped by either one, the WBA, or the IBF, and he chose IBF Pulev over Ortiz! Why was he "prepared to be stripped" by the WBA (as the article states), but not the IBF? You can play it anyway you want, but AJ swerved an undefeated Ortiz for Pulev, who had already been KO'd by Klitschko! Meanwhile Wilder jumped at the chance for Ortiz, and now it's going down!

Fact is that AJ had been the IBF heavyweight champion for a year after he defeated Wlad, and just became the WBA "super" champion. Therefore he had to fight the IBF mandatory or get stripped.

If the WBA stripped him for not fighting Ortiz, then that would be ****** on their part because they had no world heavyweight champion of any sort from March 2016 to April 2017.

Whyte is horribly overrated off of the Joshua fight where he luckily tagged an on coming Joshua who was trying to take him out.

Whyte went life and death with Chisora and some think he lost that fight. He recently struggled to quickly dispose of a shot Helenius that Duhaupas KO'ed. Ortiz would KO Whyte with ease, he has no head movement, poor mobility and is an overrated puncher.

AJ grow a pair really? Who has Wilder fought? Sure he's signed to fight Ortiz but until that fight actually happens who knows if it really will happen. Wilder has been a champion and a pro far longer than Joshua and so far hasn't stepped up to the top level. AJ is fighting Parker next who arguably has a better resume as Takam is better than anyone on Wilder's record.

Wilder wanted to fight Wlad and Wlad had agreed to fight him after his mandatories, but then he lost to Fury. The same Fury Wilder had been challenging and calling out for years. The same Fury that then retired to avoid Wilder. Wilder agreed to fight Povetkin in Russia and was in Russia to fight, before it got canceled because Povetkin was scared to fight Wilder fair. Wilder than said ok, and signed to fight Ortiz, the next top hw after him and AJ. Ortiz failed a ped test and Wilder still pleaded with the WBC to allow them to fight, even if Ortiz was juiced up. Wilder has been calling out AJ for a long time, and AJ ignores him. AJ says he can beat him and wants to fight him sometime, but not anytime soon. In fact, Hearn wanted Wilder to fight Whyte and Wilder said ok, as long as I get fight with AJ next after that. Then AJ and Hearn did not want to fight him, and Hearn quit saying he wanted Wilder-Whyte.

And Stiverne was a mandatory. The WBC, like all these ABC's have bought and paid for rankings.

As for AJ fighting Wlad, well duh. Wlad was the biggest payday possible. That is the one fight everyone wanted. The same one Wilder wanted before the Fury fight. When Wlad was two years younger. Wlad was a great champion and fighter, but that was the one fight every hw wanted. Giving AJ credit for taking that fight is like giving credit to Berto for fighting Mayweather. And you know that. The WBA is definitely an accomplice this crime! Ortiz stepped aside so AJ could fight Wlad, with the understanding that the winner was fighting Ortiz next, not after AJ fought Pulev, but NEXT!
