So basically y'all want Wilder to make money for Hearn TWICE! And then he agrees, and you walk away! That sounds like Hearn is one who is afraid! The guy said he would be HAPPY to come to ENGLAND for WHYTE! Still, you feel Wilder is afraid of Whyte? RIDICULOUS!

to me a win over a fighter like charles martin does not a champion make "fast eddie" and aj better fight a real champion in the ring something they will never agree to aj = "paper champion"

I agree, it's difficult, but I also think it's foolish to believe Wilder is AFRAID of Dillan Whyte!

It's an odd one because Wilder would have got a career high payday by some distance for fighting Whyte. Whyte is really domestic level. It would also raise his profile in the UK too. It would be a worthwhile fight for many reasons.

I kind of understand Wilder though, he's a champion and one of the top fighters in the division. If he is serious about wanting the AJ fight, he must think why should he have to fight a lower level fighter just to get a unification, which wouldn't even be certain to happen. I understand Wilder's stance, i'd want something guaranteed too.

It's a bit of a dilemma really. It's a lot of money to fight an average fighter but then he's also already dancing to Hearn's tune by doing what he suggests, which isn't really good for Wilder if he wants a strong stance in the negotiations for an AJ fight.

He was forced to sign to fight Povetkin and Ortiz. Povetkin was mandatory and it's no coincidence a few months after signing with Haymon Ortiz got a Wilder shot.

If it was a $2 million fight, Hearn wouldn't have been offering so much. Use your noggin...

If the fight is worth so little, why was Hearn offering so much? Why not just wait until the purse bid and bid $2 million and win?

True. Plus really it was a win-win situation for Hearn, that's why he would offer Wilder more money than anyone else could.

Wilder v Whyte is probably a decent money maker in the UK anyway. Wilder wins, it makes the AJ fight even bigger in the UK and if Whyte wins, he becomes a much bigger name, a champ and Hearn can make an in-house unification between Whyte and AJ.

That's why Hearn was going to pay a career high payday by far.
