Comments Thread For: David Haye Tabs Josh Kelly For Big Things in 2018

London's David Haye (28-3, 26 KOs) has given his heavyweight backing to Sunderland's 2016 Olympian Josh Kelly (5-0, 4 early) and has told the 23-year-old welterweight that he can go all the way if he listens to his trainer Adam Booth, who also trained Haye during the former cruiserweight Champion and WBA heavyweight titlist's best years.

    He is very exciting.

Surely he's gonna have to make some adjustments though even as he faces the best British fighters. Standing in the pocket with his arms by his sides someone is surely going to be good enough to make him pay.

That said, I hope not. Out of the Olympians he's the one to go out of your way to watch at this stage in their careers. Other than the Okolie and Chamberlain fights coming up.

He's talented and entertaining, so far I'm impressed but I think you need crazy Hamed power or crazy RJJ reflexes/athleticism/explosiveness to have both hands so low for so much of the fight. I'm interested to see how his style develops as he moves up in opposition.

Good that Haye can give credit to someone trained by his ex-trainer and promoted by Hearn rather than being bitter or just hyping his own guys.

great prospect although as he steps up in competition I'd be a little worried about his hands down defense
