He won the first fight but corrupt judging did him in , but he blew it that second fight so he should not be ranked higher had he gave Ward a tough fight and lost in 12 than yes but to get stop by a guy with 14 Ko's in 32 fights is quite embarrassing if you have Krusher written on your trunksComment

Umm, the Ref called the fight when Kovalev was hit with lowblows. He wasn’t stopped. Did you see how a real body shot stops a boxer, when he’s laying on the ground curled up? That’s not at all what happened in the Ward fight and you know it.He won the first fight but corrupt judging did him in , but he blew it that second fight so he should not be ranked higher had he gave Ward a tough fight and lost in 12 than yes but to get stop by a guy with 14 Ko's in 32 fights is quite embarrassing if you have Krusher written on your trunksComment

Ring Magazine has him number 4 pfp and I would agree with that ranking. I thought he won the first fight with Ward and I thought the 2nd fight was wrongly stopped when he should have been given 5 minutes to recover from very low blows. After watching a replay the referee agreed he was wrong to stop the fight and award it to Ward. Ward may have had his number and gone on to win anyway but that is assumption and not fact. Kovalev looked damn good last fight.Comment
