Smith said he shouldn't have to do VADA because he was already being tested year round by UKAD, and he was given an exemption. I've never heard of a UK fighter being exempt from VADA because of UKAD before, and they are all tested by UKAD.
AJ and Tyson Fury, I know for a fact, were tested by both UKAD and VADA before their world title fights, and I've no reason to believe that other UK fighters are treated any different from them. Except for Liam Smith, when he fought Canelo in Texas.
And Smith being exempted from VADA gave Canelo an excuse to be exempted from VADA also, so he wasn't tested at all in the run up to the fight, by VADA or anybody else.
Smith and his team didn't object to that .. you don't think they might possibly have known it was going to happen in advance, and got a bit of extra money from GBP for going along with it? I do.
And I don't understand why you are making such a fuss about VADA testing for one of GGG's fights only starting a month before the date - that's a week earlier than when he fought on Oscar's show, and not unusual for world title fights that have VADA testing, from what I've seen. As long as both fighters start at the same time, they have a level playing field, and nobody has anything to complain about.Comment

He's busy looking after his invisible elephant.
Invisible elephants are a bastard to live with. You never know when a huge pile of steaming shit is going to suddenly appear in front of you out of nowhere ...
Kind of like visiting this thread, now I come to think about it!

The September 17 super welterweight title fight between unbeaten defending beltholder Liam Smith and former two-division champ Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will no lon
Smith also withdrew from VADA, using UKAD as excuse. But please don't give me any more of that, if the champ didn't want it nonsense.
..
Smith may have been the champ, but he was an insignificant B side to Canelo ... a nobody, plucked from obscurity and given the biggest payday of his life on a GBP PPV show.
I have no doubt at all that Smith was doing exactly what Oscar and Eric Gomez told him to do.
Only a hypocrite would point the finger of su****ion at GGG for not starting VADA till a month out, and give Canelo a pass for not doing it at all for at least one championship fight..
Only an even bigger hypocrite would keep pointing the finger at GGG, who is enrolled on the WBC VADA year round random testing program, and say nothing about Canelo withdrawing from VADA completely as soon as he gave up his WBC belt.Last edited by kafkod; 02-23-2018, 03:22 PM.Comment

I’ll make it easier for you to understand. When Pacquiao fought Margarito, was he a Super Welterweight? If you say yes, then should Pacquiao have continued at Super Welterweight there on?
When Marquez hit 142 on the Welterweight scales against Pacquiao, was Marquez the known Welterweight? What weight was Marquez hitting on his Welterweight bouts? Use boxrec.
Thurman and Porter fought above 147 before, are they Welterweights or Super Welterweights?
Crawford at 135 fought at 153 on fight night. Is he a Super Welterweight?
Zurdo fights close to 190lbs on fight night, what is he?
The whole Caneloweight became tacky in saying he weighed more than Golovkin on fight night. As if HBO would disclose his real weight, hence “unofficial scale.”

There’s always an interesting mysticism how GGG boys never criticize the Pac boys claiming that Pac beat Floyd... it’s usually mute... and that’s very odd..
That only means that the GGG boys are the converts from Pac which is why they don’t say anything.
It’s very interesting.Comment

It's not that hard, if your fighting in a certain weight division, for that fight you are whatever division your fighting in, should participate be seen as a LW, he fought in that division, 5 of canelos last 7 fights have been in the MW division, 1 at SMW and 1 at JMW, if he wanted to be seen as a JMW he should have stayed there

"Alvarez was previously enrolled in VADA while serving as the WBC (World Boxing Council) – and lineal – middleweight champion, as part of the sanctioning body’s Clean Boxing Program. All bouts under the au****es of the WBC now require VADA-run random drug testing."
