Well of course not. Its not even officially in business yet so why would it to 99.9% of people?
Thats silly or uninformed at best. MMA is a growing sport in many countries now. If MMA was a stock its still a buy. The sport in the US & the UFC will have many ups & downs before its gotten as big as it will get worldwide.
That'd be like the WNBA to the NBA. I can't imagine that THAT many people interested in boxing will wanna see the B or C league of boxing which is what you are suggesting with MMA guys boxing. Let the MMA guys MMA, let the boxers box. And let the UFC promote which is what they do, arguably better than everyone, without argument better than most people in the MMA & Boxing business.
Fail or succeed the UFC's ability to craft a story & move the narrative of the sport, fighters & specific fights IS one of the major reasons the UFC is standing instead of Pride or WEC or Strikeforce or Bellator or other defunct or second tier leagues. They will bring that to the boxing world & it'll have impact.
Enough impact? Thats the question cuz one of the problems with boxing is the fans are so old & grumpy & hate change & new things. So the UFC will either need to turn enough of those guys into fans or bring in new fans or there will have to be more cats like me who just wanna see good fights on well put together shows.
MMA as a sport is nothing
UFC BOXING or UFC BOXING LEAGUE and have their guys fight for the UFC BOXING WORLD TITLE.
If all they offer is the exact same as boxing but with a few bells and whistles like extra lighting and stuff, they won't last long.
