Comments Thread For: Bernstein: Lomachenko Should Target Berchelt, Davis Not Ready

Showtime Sports expert analyst Al Bernstein does not believe former champion Gervonta Davis is ready to fight Vasyl Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs), who holds the WBO super featherweight title. Recently, Lomachenko has been taking shots at Davis through social media. The targeting of Davis was strange, because the young boxer has been out of the ring since August, does not hold a title, and Lomachenko made it clear that he wants to unify the division.

Berchelt, Davis or whoever you might want, as of now Lomachenko is invincible. He would have no problem with anyone.

Berchelt is going to fight Mijares, and after that -- Roman.
      Berchelt is a home champ.
Roma is the king of 130 now.

After dragging Rigo up two divisions to prove he wasn't invincible, what kind of challenge is Loma taking? We know he out classes little guys. Davis doesn't want it, and Berchelt is frail. Loma is not exactly hunting giants.

Who has Loma ever ducked at his own weight?

Yeah, I know he's ducking Mikey and Crawford, and Joshua and Tyson Fury, that's obvious.

Problem is that Berchelt wants no part of Loma. Berchelt will have a tune up in February and then wants to face Roman in summer and by summer Loma already moved up to 135.

Well he's not ducking any 122 pounders. He snatched that right up. Will he give up the edge he takes so readily?
