What's the point of Joshua fighting in America? There's only one known American boxer in the heavyweight division and that's Wilder.
So in the long term it makes more sense to continue fighting in the UK, filling out football stadiums and making millions.
If America had several stars in the heavyweight division then 'yes' it would make sense to setup base and fight over there.
America is no longer the superpower of heavyweight boxing, and it hasn't been for a while. You've had a decade of the Klitchko era to get used to that.

let me tell you...id say in a year or so...with a bit more build up...the AJ/wilder could do a million in the US alone on ppv
my best friends grandfather actually watched AJ/klitschko and we talked about it at thanksgiving...had no idea he even followed boxing and ive known him for years
two of my good friends, who would be best defined as casuals, brought wilder up to me some time ago without me ever mentioning him to them....
people know who these guys are
If you're perspective on things is to be believed, then 3 months of wilder sounding off and apparently being the best self promoter alive ( cos noone else is promoting him) until he fights ortiz should mean he pulls in bloody decent numbers.
and before we go there.. no 800k approx on non ppv at prime time us tv slot is not good enough to command the figures and location and expenditure that has been touted by some, for reasons ive just explained.
if he pulls in the same numbers against ortiz that he has in his last fights.. it changes nothing

the AJ/wlad fight was a hit over here on showtime....wilder keeps getting his KO's shown on sportscenter over here......
wilder vs ortiz isnt going to attract the same level of interest as Aj/wilder either........i would never put wilder on the same level but its almost like looking at canelo vs liam smith ppv numbers compared to when u put canelo in with khan, cotto or golovkin.......

Lets forget about Wilder , even if he fights a Miller type fighter it in general just expand on his public figure . I believe he should fight outside the U.K but doing it against a first fight with Wilder is a poor decision .

The fight was a hit bc Klitchko was also fighting and probably carried that fight more than Joshua to U.S fans bc ppl here knew who Klitchko was ...NOW they know Joshua as a main public figure .
Wilder isnt remotely on Klitchko level of being known even if you WISH he was . This IS the point and thats Joshua HAS NEVER fought over here . You are relying on Joshua to pull numbers bc Wilder hasnt done PPV events ....
It makes sense to do it over here in the states though ...2018 RIGHT ? lol

the wlad/AJ fight being a hit doesnt need to be explained...it was an exciting fight and the US fight fans enjoyed in on showtime....you trying to explain why or how it was a hit has no bearing on this conversation...no relevance....it just was a hit
who or what is bringing the numbers means squat....when you put to known guys in the ring, in a tantalizing matchup, it will garner interest
matching AJ with wilder will get people to watch in the US.....what wilder brings is that hes the only US HW that can attract any sort of ppv numbers with him in the US.......if wilder and aj fight in vegas it will do solid numbers and they will make more money in ppv and gate than they can in UK....and wilder is the only guy that can offer AJ that opportunity

The Wlad fight does need to be explained to an imbecile who cant differentiate that IT WAS Klitchko fighting NOT unknown Wilder who will be put on PPV in the states with THE top draw who hasnt fought here yet . Just bc Joshua could fight on a U.S PPV doesn't mean it generates more money than his U.K fights .
This is logic even an 11 year old gets but once again Wilder fanbase struggles to understand things even on little kids levels . lol
