  • Maybe fight a decent fighter first before bringing race into it

Being black didn’t harm plenty of great fighters in boxing history when it comes to respect and popularity.

      • NO...Stop with the "If I Was White..." when it hasn't been a White Superstar in boxing since ***ing Rocky Marciano

You're just not interesting outside of the ring Wilder on top of a very weak Resume and the lack of dance partners in America in the Heavyweight Division. Who is the second best Heavyweight currently? Dominic Breazeale? Honestly, in America, you have to be a Crowd Pleaser more so outside of the ring than IN IT. You just want to get the CASUAL SPORTS FAN to the Party.

I challenge any current fighter Particularly Entitled American Fighters who feel like they're owed stardom because they're American to have a moment like this on ESPN:

I don't think any of them can besides maybe Adrien Broner, but then these fighters wonder why they're not Superstars or bigger Draws. Give people a ***ing reason to tune in. Don't just show up a couple of weeks before the fight or fight week trying to promote what you have to sell to people who don't know who the **** you are

You not liked, you will never be liked, embrace it and make money off of it like Mayweather did by going from Pretty Boy to Money. Rebrand yourself Wilder! Get Rid of "Bronze Bomber" come up with something new and more catchy and give them something to really HATE to the point that they will tune in hoping to see you lose

good post ^ i get labelled a racist, anti american a lot of the time but i genuinely just dont like some of this crop of american fighters, a lot of them (not all) seem to have a real sense of entitlement, maybe theyve seen all the money floyd had and assume they should be getting it too. The difference is floyd took risky fights at an early stage, built himself a persona and put the work in inside and outside of the gym. This isnt the first 'i should be a star' thread ive seen from an american fighter. Someone like spence has all the tools but hes fought once a year, same with thurman, how the **** are you going to be a star doing that? I think it was andrade moaning about he should be a bigger name even though hes basically done nothing in years.Even if youre being ducked (which spence might well be) just get yourself out there and active. And as for wilder, if youre not going to fight top 10 fighters consistently, let alone top 5, then you are never going to be a star.

For me, it's more of a style thing, and GGG's face first, stiff, robotic style doesn't do it. His competition is average as well.

Usyk, Loma, and Saunders are something else!
I'm no GGG ****, I shan't force anyone to enjoy watching him like some nut brains here.
"He has no boxing skills, special effects, finesse, or the personality, just like GGG. "
I just criticized your referring to him as unskilled and not special, which is baseless.
Is Lomachenko unskilled? No, but I just can't get myself to enjoy watching him.

              • Changing your skin color won't change your resume - so it won't change opinions.

You don't get respect because you've done **** all to earn it.

                Next.

The first thing you hear when you critique Golovkin's resume is how avoided he is. I always rejected this flat out. GGG was the most overrated fighter in boxing. Now, he's becoming close to irrelevant.

Unearned hype never works. Didn't work for GGG, won't work for Wilder. They are both limited B fighters. Nothing wrong with that.
GGG is rated top 3 in every P4P list that matters, and is No1 in many. He has millons of fans all over the world and he just took part in one of the most highly publicised, biggest money earning fights in recent years. Comparing Golovkin to Wilder is as dumb as the **** Wilder is spouting here.

Racism doesn't stop black athletes, basketball players and football players, musicians, actors, etc, getting massive media attention in the States. Wilder doesn't get attention because he hasn't done anything to earn it.

If that's the argument fine, but what excuse would u have for Ward suffering from that same sh.t Wilders complaining about ?

Furthermore ggg was on a meteoric rise years before his big fight with Canelo, but prior to that he fought nothing but endless Cans .

So I guess Wilders is right to an extent, as foreigners do get more love here in the U.S.
