You must have just started watching boxing ? If anything THIS era is the most non racists with the much more mix of cultures and countries involved in boxing not to mention the social media age .

Ever here of Gerry Cooney or Tommy Morrison? Two guys that were essentually labled HYPE jobs bc of skin color and subject to SEVERE bias . I have and was around to see it . Even the Klitchkos were under the same scrutiny but to a lesser extent .

If Wilder was WHITE he would get criticised even more bc there are way more black fans in the U.S and his fans ARE majority of BLACK young uneducated ( it seems ) and nationalistic ppl rooting for him for the main reason is hes BLACK .


As a matter of fact this entire forum would be all over Wilder bc the only types of posters that go way beyond supporting him even when hes BLATENLEY took careful fights and makes ridiculous statements are the majority black U.S citizens on here !

Stipe Miocic is the HW champ in the UFC - a white American who has equal the most title defenses in UFC HW history, knocking out his last 5 opponents and yet I don't hear his name.

What are the media supposed to do? Convince the public that Wilder is fighting world class opponents when that is demonstrably not true? It's a hard sell when there are other top dogs in the HW division that he hasn't fought yet.

As a semi casual fan I would say this, I heard of Wilder several years ago. But as someone wrote, he chose to take the easy and safe payday, and abviously he fell off the radar. I am American, but I saw on TV Anthony Joshua took the reings from Klitschko, and man it was exciting. I am excited to see Joshua fight, and he aint White. Wilder and all our American boxing divas are the ones to blame for not willimg to step up, yo take that ONE challenge that takes them to the next level. When Wilder heard Povetkin came up dirty, he was on the next flight home. He didnt have to fight, but could have use the opportunity for some needed publicity. Buy I umderstood he did not even make it to Russia, and it comes off as he was never seriously interested in that test.

What wilder lacks a bit is quality of opposition. Thats all. Because I really like his fighting style. Keep soing what u are doing and u will eventually get the support.
