Decent idea but the purses won't attract the top names.

        Who remembers this?

The WBC has just announced its approval to have tournaments at both 147 and 154 to determine Mayweather’s next mandatory challengers for the respective divisions.

I like the idea of an extra round if it's a draw. Am I reading the numbers right, the guaranteed purse is 15K? Can't see many top welterweights getting excited by that.

More tournaments are a good thing for boxing.

But as others are saying the purses are too small to attract the big dogs.

I could be wrong but I think this is more aimed at guys ranked around the 20-40 mark, I mean apart from the purse the prize seemed to be a high ranking not a title shot... should be a good thing, gets guys names out there

I agree 100%. This is a great initiative to raise visibility of some not so popular but good fighters. I will definitely watch it every time I get a chance. We should see some great sc****s, less running and more blood
