Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas: I'm Very Interested in Fighting Keith Thurman

Former two division world champion Jessie Vargas (28-2, 10 KOs) is looking for a major fight when he returns to the ring in the first quarter of 2018. Herrera was down in the sixth round, but managed to last until the final bell.

Keith and Jessie always seem to get into a war despite being highly skilled 147 pounders, the sport needs these types of fights : a former world champion in his prime against a undefeated unified reigning champion. PBC is doing it big 2018.

I also got 'Runtime' Jessie looked very sloppy and throwing very wide vs. Aaron Herrera and stays in the pocket too long, he also fades and gives up rounds in the stretch ; the fight is going to be decided in the first seven, Keith will get on his bike after he wins the first half, but I hope Vargas catches him with with one of these :

The first card would take place on March 3 and pit heavyweight world titleholder Deontay Wilder against Luis "King Kong" Ortiz, with another penciled in for April 14 -- though it could move to another date that month -- featuring unified welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman in a defense against former two-division world titlist Jessie Vargas, multiple sources involved in the events told ESPN.
