Erik Skoglund is awake and responsive having been brought out of his medically induced coma. With the swelling to his brain sufficiently reduced, doctors began the process of waking Erik last night and have so far been pleased with the results.

Great news hopefully 2018 will be more of this instead of tragedy. I've only seen skogland against callum Smith but he comes to fight and has a fairly competant fight style.

good signs, but it sounds like he's still in an ICU, and we don't know a ton about his condition other than that he is vaguely "responsive."

Best of luck to the guy, hope he recovers to the fullest extent to which it's possible, and that he finds happiness, stability, and peace.

Hope not. How could he do it after such an injury? His boxing career is over. Nick Blackwell did not understand this after he almost died against Chris Eubank Jr; he sparred again, and was hospitalized for the second time.
