I wonder what made him give the green light. Why was there a red light in the first place? I thought this rematch was only a matter of time.Comment

I am (was) a GGG fan. I admit that GGG can do nothing. He will go after Canelo 12 rounds with landing 0 punches. Canelo wins by UD due to some counter attacks. It will be very similar to the first fight, but this time Canelo will land more punches.
GGG will win only if he boxes very clever, uses head movement, sets up some traps.
LOL. Okay he's going to land zero punches even though he outlanded Canelo in the first fight, had no issues with him and backed him up all night against the ropes and Canelo couldn't hurt him?Comment

They were waiting to see if Lemule won the fight. If Lemule won, they were going to ditch GGG and fight him because he's a golden boy fighter. Now, they're just going to Stall 2.0 as long as possible before signing, just like the first time. They need time to arrange the next payoff and fix.Comment

Complete nothing-burger statement.
We already know both boxers are up for it, this is just posturing from GB in case there is lack of a agreement on terms between the promoters. Sounds like GB just made an offer that may or may not be in line with what Loeffler has stated he wants, and they are posturing in case he says 'close, but no banana'.
As for the winner, interesting to see the vegas odds have Golovkin as a clear favourite. My feeling its a real pick-em, 50/50 fight. Both learned from the first fight; Golovkin a bit older; could go either way.Comment

No need to spin anything .. the timing speaks for itself. They were waiting to see if Lemule won the fight. If Lemule won, they were going to ditch GGG and fight him because he's a golden boy fighter. "Canelo" - aka Oscar De La Hoya - was clearly waiting to see what happened with BJS and Lemieux before deciding whether or not to give himself the green light to finalise the GGG/Canelo rematch.
I'm also pretty sure that "Canelo" was thinking about delaying the GGG rematch till Sept and fighting BJS next if he beat Lemieux, and probably even talked money with Bill while he was in Canada.
I can't see any other reason why BJS would suddenly do a 180 degree turn and decide that, actually, after Lemieux, he would rather fight Canelo next than GGG.Last edited by kafkod; 12-20-2017, 07:34 AM.Comment
