I agree but I think it's probably in response to their talking trash about him. I'd consider Berchelt, Beltran, Linares, Frampton to all be better fighters than Davis but none of them have talked trash or talked down. I guess it's kind of a put up or shut up statement from Loma. Obviously, they will shut up.

When you're in the driver's seat, you shouldn't have to respond to everything. I don't know what Davis said but I disagree that Mayweather was talking trash. He don't think he's P4P #1. He's not the only that think that. He wasn't impressed by the fight with Lomachenko and Rigondeaux. Again, not the only one. Just like every past fighter think they could beat Mayweather, I'm sure he feels the same way about Lomachenko.

The only reason we're even talking about this is because he responded. You really think this was going to move a fight with Davis one inch closer. Yet you and others can claim Davis is scared. They are so many obstacles to them fighting why is that the first response?

Not if Davis explodes, jumps on him from the get go. Can Loma take those hard, southpaw combination punches from Davis? Not so sure.

Davis is a young, strong, skilled, vicious power puncher, and has a chin. He isn't any of these small, weak fighters like Marriaga and Rigo that Loma was feasting on.

Imagine Loma trying to clown Davis like he did Marriaga (which was distasteful).

If Davis doesn't want it right now, it's his right. I don't see the rush either. I love to see this fight in 2019 or 2020 at 140.

We don't have to imagine since we just saw him do it to Rigo (and Walters, etc etc). As for Tank's powerful punches, who says he can hit Loma clean? Rigo couldn't do it once all fight. Neither could Walters. And even if Tank lands a few, he didn't get Pedraza or the last guy he fought out with one punch, so what makes you think he would get Loma out with one punch? Loma has shown no signs of being chinny. He went 12 hard rounds with Salido who outweighed him by 11 pounds in the ring, took Salido's best body shots and nut shots for 12 rounds, and was still stronger than Salido at the end of the fight.

I know some fans out there are looking for that Great Black Hope to take down Lomachenko, but face it, Tank Davis is not The One. Did you see his last fight? Tank is, however, The Two, as in, the 2nd best fighter at 130 (well, either him or Berchelt), which is why he should be fighting the top guy, Lomachenko, to see for sure who is better. But since he's with Floyd, you can expect him to duck and cherry pick like Floyd did, which those fans out there would never defend if Tank had white skin, and that's a fact, you know it is. And it's pathetic. Just a year ago they were saying Loma was ducking Tank, that Tank would knock him out, but ever since Loma gave them a reality check by making Rigo quit, as well as the fact that Tank looked like **** his last fight, suddenly those fans have changed their tunes and now they're criticizing Loma for calling out Tank even though just a year ago they were criticizing Loma for "ducking" Tank.

So if Loma doesn't call out Tank, he's ducking. If Loma calls out Tank, he's "picking on a kid." I guess when you're white, certain racist fans will criticize you no matter what you do!

Floyd and Davis said a while back they'll probably never look for a fight with Loma as there's no reason to. If a guy is seen as the best guy in your divisions you'd think you'd want a piece of him. That told me a lot about their mentality.

Also, this isn't the first time we hear a boxer say they're not looking for fight with A,B, or C and somewhere down the line they end up fighting. This says nothing about their mentality except what fits your narrative.

Rigo was old, tired, and worn out. He was too small and out of his depth. That's the opposite of what Loma will encounter in Davis. Bad comparison.
