A couple of years ago we had 4 promoters on sky. Frank Warren the lead promoter, Matchroom(Hearn), Hatton Promotions and Frank Maloney. This meant we consistently got: unbiased coverage, competitive matchups, cards that had strength in depth and you could attend these shows for a reasonable price and a lot of people there were genuine boxing fans, now we get Olympians fighting bums, any semi-decent fight is on PPV, a load of Matchroom yes men, supporting whatever false narrative Hearn wants them to spin and fans have to pay through their nose just to get a nosebleed seat off stub hub.
Is that good for British boxing and more importantly boxing fans?? Is it ****.
Hearn doesn’t care about this sport, the first fight he ever promoted was Haye-Harrison on PPV, I think that says it all about his moral principles regarding boxing, he’s continuously robbed British boxing fans for years now.
Look at his most recent card for example, imagine the **** De La Hoya would get if he put Vergi Ortiz 6-0 and Serhii Bohachuk 4-0 as the main event of a HBO boxing card, cause Hearns just done the equivalent of that with Okollie vs Chamberlain, but apparently that standard of boxing is good for British boxing.
I can tell you have very little understanding of the UK boxing market, but go and ask REAL boxing men who know this business inside out like Steve Goodwin, Dennis Hobson, Barry McGuigan, Steve Wood, Andy Ayling etc what they think of Hearn.
He’s a silver spoon fed, lying, money grabbing scumbag, who lucked in to his position at Sky, and found away to exploit the casual fan base. He’s an a**hole and anyone who supports him is as well.
I do agree with you in some respects.

I do think Hearn is a lying, scheming, hypocritical, money worshipping ****. The stub hub **** is horrendous and looks like its getting found out through the courts currently.

This fight should be no where near the headline. It's not even a good Co headline. Comparing it to Groves v Degale is off the mark as well, way less talent and way less pedigree.

Hearn has done a lot to raise the profile of the sport in England though. He brought in the casual fans, the jack the lad football fan market. That is both good and bad. It brings ratings, crowds, exposure and money to the sport which it needs to grow. It also brings a lot of dumb ****s who know nothing about boxing, which again is good and bad. It means that there is the dumb, uneducated **** money coming to boxing, but it also means that those dumb, uneducated ****s will pay for wank cards and believe the complete bollocks that is spewed.

I know it's painful but boxing is doing well overall I think. There is good competition and fans in general are beginning to get more aware of the bull****.

There will always be the dumb ****s though, but thats just the way of the world.

EDIT: the blanked out word was mainly C U N T

😂😂 I mainly agree man, I’ll give him his credit where it’s due, he’s done well from a business perspective but this narrative that he’s “saved” British boxing is frankly ridiculous.

Just because 'Casual's' don't know all that much does not make them valid boxing fans... fans that the sport actually needs.
There’s a difference between creating casual interest (which I agree is good) and EXPLOITING the casual fan base as a way to justify poor fights, convey a false narrative and ultimately make money. That’s my problem with what Hearn does
