Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Even I Didn't Expect Saunders To Do a Job Like That!

IF DAVID LEMIEUX did, indeed, **** up his hand as he claimed after being completely bamboozled by Billy Joe Saunders in Montreal on Saturday he must have done it taking a swing at thin air, because he didn't connect with much else on the night.

That fight was fool's gold...now BJS is a top 10 p4p fighter??? Did he take Lemiuex's O?? BJS is good but I saw a slick but sloppy fighter, what makes him any different than Sergio Mora?? Then all of these people going to bat for him - and Tyson Fury....a Heavyweight that never made the mandatory rematch clause, never defended his titles, and has dam near zero KO power, but his fans swear he is the best Heavyweight?? The man hasn't stepped foot in a ring in about 3 years went on a cocain binge while training for the rematch(but no one calls it a duck) then he is obesely overweight but he can beat AJ by the end of the year - both of these guys BJS / Tyson Fury are cut from the same cloth ....this is the definition of the great white hype...just look at the support and excuses.... Now they both can FIGHT - don't get me wrong, it's just the blind delusional support I question - the squared ring will always find the truth...

Right so BJS is no better than Sergio Mora?

BJS is not popular here either. He doesn't seem like a particularly nice man which typically helps with casuals over here. Nor is he a puncher.

He has no real fan base whatsoever to speak of as far as I can see outside of his community.

If anything Saturday seems like the start of his career in that he has always been extremely highly regarded in British boxing circles for a decade now but not a draw. If he was Hearn would have got him to jump ship by now. Although people from BJS's community a fiercely loyal so I am probably doing him a disservice there.

Yeah, everyone gave Lemieux too much credit. And to think Golovkin fought him like he was the second coming of Mike Tyson.

Golovkin fought Lemieux exactly the way an elite boxer/puncher should fight a crude brawler with KO power. He boxed the sox off him and punched the crap out of him!

I thought he gave him too much respect for like the first 6 to 8 rounds. I can understand why he took that approach but even when he was within Lemieux's range he was able to see what was coming because it was all telegraphed. I bet if they ever fought again, he would get rid of him faster because he knows now that Lemieux had nothing but a KO punch.

??? ......faster? WTF are you smoking?
He didn't get rid of him, it went the distance.

I agree Lemieux was totally outclassed, but if BJS is so baddass, he should have stopped him and he didn't.

It's because ******* Saunders has no power and fights like Chris Byrd.

My bad, for a minute I thought you were talking about BJS, that's what happens when a thread gets hijacked to another fight.

I mentioned Golovkin's name and one of his cheerleaders had to chime in so I responded. It's all good.
