Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Crawford is No. 1 Pound-for-Pound, Hands Down

Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn't think there's any doubt about who is the best boxer in the sport. "The No. 1 fighter in boxing right now, hands down, is Terence Crawford," Mayweather told FightHype.com in an interview posted over the weekend. "The pound-for-pound, top fighter in boxing right now is Terence Crawford."

I agree but the gap between him and Loma isn't much. I truly hope Crawford fights both Loma and Spence.

It's between two guys imo; Loma and Crawford. Both have strong arguments. Crawford hasn't taken an L and Loma has probably beaten better comp. But then again I guess if we think about the weight advantages for Loma, then you add in Salido, Bud probably has the better case for P4P #1.

I still think Loma's win over Russell was next level stuff. But Crawford hasn't had a close fight in his wonderful career. I really like his win over Felix, who was ranked top 10 at WW when Crawford bested him. It's a good debate.

Floyd JR will take any conversation and make it about him. But no surprise he picked someone darker than him as #1p4p...atleast he didn't pick nigrundeaux

An acceptable choice. It's Loma and Bud at the top and I think they have a bit of distance between themselves and the rest.

I hope Haymon plays ball at 147 and lets him face the PBC guys too. Spence-Thurman winner would be a super fight.

no surprise why floyd is naming TC as the best pount 4 pound right now. "he reminds me of a young floyd mayweather"...

but knowing floyd, he's not gonna give another fighter his props without throwing some shade at it, like always. He’s a lot older than I was when he really started getting his props because I turned professional as a teenager:...

Yeah, I noticed that. Kind of backhand compliments Bud a bit in his comments here.
