  • you guys were sleeping on Saunders big time

this is my prediction from the other thread.....

the gypsy will lite that fat kid up like a christmas tree

..... David Lemieux, is the epitome of average

he is " just " a puncher..... nothing more

he is bread-n-butter for a good fighter, which Saunders is

hopefully BJS proves that tonight, which I think he will

Saunders has above average skill and enough power to keep Lemmy honest, which should do the trick

Saunders is already inside Lemieux's head

I expect Lemieux to miss wildly and blow his load down the stretch

if he does not catch Saunders with something early, it could be a long frustrating night for him

..... Lemieux has never been a top level fighter so if Saunders wins it'll be a good win for him but not a huge upset. Lemieux isn't top 3 in the middleweight division.

..... Lemieux is the epitome of average, just a tough-guy puncher..... difficult for someone like Curtis Stevens, but bread-and-butter for a skilled boxer

Lemieux is not a genuine world-class fighter, Saunders could be with commitment/activity..... currently, neither of them operate at the level of Golovkin/Canelo/Jacobs.....

a re-dedicated Saunders, with a couple of recent fights under his belt, really should be viewing Lemieux as a showcase opponent..... his plan should be to defuse/dissect the "killer" in his own back yard, schooling him while looking great in the process.....

Saunders had no problem travelling because the venue/opponent are a perfect showcase opportunity
..... I would be very surprised if Lemieux was the favorite, even fighting at home

you guys were sleeping on Saunders

and, NO..... that was not his best performance.....

I have been watching him since he was a kid

thank god we no longer have to listen to guys refer to Lemieux as world-class

    • Damn. I thought Lemieux would win but it's kind of sad that he is Golovkin's 2nd best win.

      • back in Dec 2015, when Golovkin offered Saunders a paltry 1.5mil (which was ridiculous)..... and then rushed off to fight Wade/Brook, with NO counter-offer.....

..... did you guys REALLY think that Golovkin suddenly changed his mind, and walked away from his "dream"..... ?

Saunders was just the latest in a long line of skillful fighters who exploit movement that Golovkin found a reason not to fight..... "dreams" and all

Jacobs was a mando, and Canelo was a payday.

        1) it is clearly obvious that 1.5mil was ABSURD

        2) despite it being plainly obvious to knowledgeable observers..... I have a link where Abel Sanchez admits that Golovkin is not the same fighter if his opponent does not stand in front of him

        3) despite those two facts, you mugs called me a hater, just for stating the obvious

        • I'll be the first to admit i was wrong. BJS is making a believer out of me. Damn good performance.

          • I called it people i was one of the first to make the prediction i get a few wrong but today i knew i was on the money. Masterful performance from BJS he gives GGG and Canelo all they can handle. Yes!

            • Lemieux looked super sluggish. Even at the weigh in his stomach looked super weird. He looked really drained. Wish we saw this fight with both at their best.

But not many fighters have the level of adept movement that Saunders showed tonight. Much of that is probably due to Lemieux being inept, but Canelo will probably never fight him now, and I'm not sure if Golovkin would even be able to catch him effectively. Even though BJS was able to hit David at will, and probably could have stopped him if wanted to, his style is really not conducive to exciting fights. Lemieux made BJS look almost as skillful at using movement for defense as Lomachenko looks using movement for offense.

I think it's almost certain we get GGG/Canelo in May 2018. That leaves, I assume, one more BJS fight without those two. Does Jacobs get a shot?

A BJS/Canelo fight would be two pretty elusive guys going at it, which could wind up being a stinker. Though I do think Canelo wins it, they might want to put him in an action fight that he could look good in rather than a chess match, so I see GGG, an unknown (jacobs?), and then possibly a BJS match-up after that for Canelo.

easy bro, those two guys are in a completely different level/class

Lemieux was horribly over-rated and folks were sleeping on Saunders

                  see my earlier post

not saying that Saunders would beat Golovkin..... nor did I say that about Mora..... just saying that when you are trying to establish yourself as a PPV star and generate interest/hype, there are certain guys/styles you stay away from..... even Sanchez admitted that

                  " available " ?..... check

                  " skilled mover/spoiler "..... forget it

Damn. You definitely chiseled this one in stone the moment the fight was made. Respect.

                    • If you have a kid or are one and training in boxing right now. Watch this fight 5x and just observe range...range...range go to the gym, chat to your coach about what you see, you can more easily attempt to drill and replicate here than if you watch Mayweather, because Mayweather can see angles you might never learn to process as quickly as he can. With BJS it’s all in his technique and timing.

I said in a previous post he’d win, I also said before he wasn’t pretty to watch, but he changed that tonight and demonstrated exceptionally slick skills
