But just early on focus on making Saunders less mobile. He did so little right that I don't know how he expected to win. And not knowing how to cut off the ring? What was he working on in training??? Did he even know who he was fighting?
David simply couldn't get close enough to Saunders to employ any of those tactics. Saunders also held for his life on the rare occasions when they did end-up close together, which were only because Saunders stepped into him, not because David could catch him. Lemieux looked as inept as Seldin did tonight.

Again I'd say he looked worse against GGG; he was thoroughly outclassed, busted up, dropped and stopped. He showed the same lack of jab and missed all night. People just didn't expect Saunders to make him look as bad.

Tonight just reenforced what we saw against Golovkin , Lemieux isn't elite. To beat him though I think puts you at another level, top echelon fighter.

Yea, that's what I'm saying. He should have been punching out of those clinches. Saunders was holding but Lemieux should have been working to free one hand and just **** to the hips instead of just accepting the clinch so easily.

Oh well. You're 100% right. He did indeed look inept. The biggest thing I guess was not being able to cut off the ring. That would have forced much more infighting, which he needed imho.

BJS is one of the biggest pricks in boxing but he does have some slick southpaw movement and a good 1-2. He completely dominated although Lemieux may have injured his left arm or shoulder early in the fight because he hardly threw any left hooks the whole fight. Not making excuses for him because I always thought BJS was the favourite but he didn’t throw that left very much. BJS will be a tough out for GGG and Canelo particularly the way Canelo gasses in the late rounds.

ha ha ha I think BJS could have stopped DL but what he's actually doing is the more intelligent option for himself. Anyway a 12 round schooling and constant beat up is I think more painful, frustrating, and disappointing than a knockout to the defeated fighter.

Reading about the fight a bit, Golovkin don't want that smoke, especially before he gets that second payday.

Agreed. Reminded me of Calzaghe/Lacy. When the first bell rang over 50% of voters had gone with David Lemieux by KO/TKO.

Lol I remember people telling me Lemieux would KO Canelo if they fought. Lemieuxs been very overrated since the GGG fight. And i actually like the guy. was hoping he could pull it off tonight. But BJS a class above him.
