Andrey "The Bronx Bomber" Tsurkan of Russia scored an eighth-round TKO against Hector Camacho Jr., for the vacant NABF 154-pound title. The highlight was the fourth round, in which a Camacho left had Tsurkan headed for the canvas, but Tsurkan recovered with a flurry to daze Camacho.
Then, in the eighth, Tsurkan (23-2, 15 KOs) had Camacho (41-2-1) on the ropes, though Camacho appeared to be blocking Tsurkan's punches. Referee Randy Newman, however, stopped the fight at 1:42 in the round, prompting protests from Camacho but to no avail.

Pre mature stoppage but Camacho was gassing out and probably would have been stopped in the next round or even round 10. I think the ref saved him from getting KO'd in front of all those people...but yes premature stoppage at the time. But Camacho was so dam tired already.Last edited by Bonafide; 06-10-2006, 09:24 PM.
