I think it just comes with the independence. The guys who are covered by promoters get shielded. People blame Arum or Haymon or Hearn or Duva or whoever. But when a guy makes it clear he calls his shots. The hate starts.

**** It, can't please everybody lol
yeah could be that. im struggling to see why else hes getting so much hate. He knocked that lightweight out who had some hype at the time, then he beat broner in a fight many were tipping him to lose. Of course the resident nsb genuises will deny that and revise that win, but i dont forget everyone saying how broner was a beast at that weight, he'd only lost to bigger fighters etc. lipinets is ranked 8th in the division and unbeaten, for a stay busy fight its hardly terrible is it.

This explains the "more money" comment. I guess they think the gate for this will be really high.

Btw it's funny to see the hate for Lipnets now, when some people here were hating on Crawford for not fighting him. Boxing fans lol
Pretty sure they will do big numbers with Mikey fighting in San Antonio. Mikey had plenty of fans in New York. We know why the Linares fight didn't happen, because Oscar wanted 50/50 when Linares barely drew 2k at the Forum. The Garcia's have a gym in San Antonio so he will do well there.

YES could not agree more. And thing is I think he could have beat Linares but wanted to see it for same reason WE ALL SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE ITS BEST VS BEST.But linares would have at least giving him probs early. There is no way to spin this.He just moved farther away from fight with Loma and its clear as hel l that he wanted NO PART of Crawford(which I don't mind he is too big)because he waited until Craw moved up 147 before he moved up.

I'm a fan of Mikey and I understand that he wants to dictate terms but when you go from having an oppurtunity to fight Miguel Cotto at MSG then fighting Jorge Linares then you decide to scrap that.

So you go another route and maybe fight Robert Easter but ultimately you end up with Sergey Lipinets you have to wonder what his thinking is.

Lipinets vs Garcia is a decent fight but nowhere near Cotto, Linares, or Easter.

For Lipinets this is a gigantic chance. Potentially a Sadam Ali esque chance.

Both are much better than lipinets and would be a unification. Those are the fights people wanted.
