I agree that Kriegal is no fun but something is clearly wrong with Atlas these days, I think the comparison to Larry Merchant is a good one, Larry was once great but as the years went by he became terrible in the way he talked to fighters and colleagues. Atlas is showing a similar decline.

ESPN is dead wrong, but I understand. They are obviously becoming more invested in boxing, which is good for the sport, but having an on-air personally always ranting and raving about injustices in the sport is sure to affect their bottom line, no?

Teddy became a victim of politics. Speaking your mind all the time, only works in the movies.

Us as boxing "fans" are not without blame, because we love announcers that pull for our favorite fighters, and hate those who don't. I'm mature enough to recognize that even though I don't always agree with teddy, nobody on ESPN, besides maybe Max Kellerman (whos currently under contract to HBO)and Tim, is more qualified to give an educated boxing opinion...but credentials matter less and less these days.

Feel bad for the guy, because there are few people more passionate as well as educated about the sport, and anytime one of them get demoted, it's a loss for everybody, whether you agree with his opinions or not.

Atlas knows boxing. You know scratching your ass and working at Subway.

          Stay in your fking lane.

In studio is fine place for him. He can STILL be as passionate for the sport and give his insight (which is second to none) without losing total control due to being dead set in the middle of the fight experience. I loved Teddy until I just didn't. Can't say when it happened. Just was tired of the ranting.

I am willing to give the new crew a chance to grow, but I am skeptical Tim Bradley ever improves much.

This is ESPN we are talking about here, What actually happen in all fairness is the head of "talent diversity" dictated that boxing doesn't have any female commentators and someone has to get the axe. He is old, white and won't be PC so he got the short end of the stick.

My money is that the person replacing him is a woman.

I thought I was going to get hate for my **** ha, but I'm with you. He may go off on a subject sometimes, but you always hear a interesting view and learn **** from him. I appreciate that.

He is the Jon Gruden of boxing....everyone is great-- no real talk, no criticism. ESPN is bleeding money and it is decisions like this that are hurting them.
Espn is bleeding money? Lets put things into perspective here. Espn is down to around 87 million viewers which is down 16 million from its peak 6 years ago. Only thing is most of those losses werent regular watchers of Espn. Also they lost viewers at a far less rate than cable overall. The loss is due to people cutting off cable or downgrading. Meanwhile Espn gets over 7 dollars for all 87 million subscribers every month which is by far the highest of any cable channel and is up from 4 dollars per subscriber when viewership was at it's peak so its generating much more than ever before. 2/3 of Espn income comes from subscribers and only 1/3 from advertising. Espn is by far the biggest sports media company, fox sports 1 only gets 1 dollar per subscriber and Espn does 10x the ratings so do your research before you say Espn is bleeding money because the reality is they are making more than ever before
