You’re right. I feel sorry for him. From what I understand — and I have no proof, nor reason to doubt it either — Rigo has major financial issues, which is why he accepted this ill-advised bout in the first place. His career is done. He’s too old to start over. Sad ending.

Rigo might as well retire (if he didn't already announce it). As good as he is, that quitting just crushed him, and taking away his belt just ensures that NOBODY will want to fight him. If he keeps fighting, he'll only be getting paid enough to afford a Happy Meal.Comment

his purse from the loma fight should also be withheld. cowards dont deserve $$ or belts. deport him too. nobody gives a fck about this guy. go to his IG all his supporters dragging him thru the mud. all that sht talking, all those memes and jokes. he made fun of walters quitting and even after the fight refused to give loma full credit for making him quit like the ultimate hoe. rigo just became public enemy #1. his trainer should've warned him the consequences of quitting but he just let him do it.. if he fights again hopefully its not even televised.Comment

why are some people being so sympathetic to this coward rigo. when walters quit like a hoe nobody showed him love. he was dragged thru the mud. and this quit job was way worse than that. and rigo can only blame himself for his crappy career. he was given bum after bum opponents on PPV undercards to look good against and he stunk up the place every single time.
he signed to Caribe, a low tier company. he never seemed to care how boring and unwatchable he was either. he just kept performing the same. "boos" in his fights were expected. on top of being a coward hes also a dirty fighter, he loves holding down the neck and punching with the free arm. he resorted to clinching in a pathetic attempt to get disqualified.
his eye was gonna close soon. loma was turning up the heat and rigo had no adjustments. proving his supposed great ring IQ is overrated.Comment

[QUOTE]On another subject, listening to the radio in Montreal this morning, they said that the Stevenson vs Jack was all but confirmed in a "unification" fight. Did/will the WBA give to Jack is regular belt back? They also said that the WBC would order Alvarez vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk (number 2 ranked WBC, number 1 WBO) and the winners would then have to fight each other. The Stevenson vs Jack rumour has been brewing in Montreal for months now. Is all or any of that true?
This is the first we're hearing of unification, although we supposed it's possible the WBA could say the fight is for a vacant super title.Comment

[QUOTE=WBC WBA IBF;18332108]In divisions with three world champions, the WBA has been eliminating the interim titles first. So when Jacobs lost, interim champion N'Dam was upgraded to world champion. So GGG vs. Jacobs still reduced the number of champions from three to two.

As for Jacobs, at the time of the GGG fight, I though there was only 2 WBA belts and not 3, thanks for the explanation.Comment

He's still the #1 guy at his weight, he should maybe look at fighting 4 fights a year while he can to put away as much money as possible, I also think many boxers would hire him as a trainer, look at his amateur and professional record, he has a lot he could teach.Comment

Sad, and probably unfair - the WBA has wanted to take the belt off him for a while, and once they got a whiff of an opportunity, they took it.
Nothing the WBA does surprises me anymore - they're a cluster**** of an organization, in a sea full of cluster****s.
Rigo doing it real tough - his reputation has taken a massive hit, his record skewed, and now his belt gone.Comment
