Where's that WBA poster at to speak on this?

This is garbage, but really it's all Rigo's fault for taking this fight that turned out to be a career disaster.

Can I ask a question? Does every single headline on this site need a f*#$ing exclamation point in it? Even if the actual quote doesn't contain one? Why do we feel the need to inject an artificial, gratuitous sense of over-emotion into every little thing?

We've already offered our thoughts. There's no doubt Rigo would have been allowed to keep his belt had he been with Haymon.

It was a cash out fight. If he'd been aligned with a more powerful promoter or manager, he would have been able to go back to 122 to defend his title.

Before I read this article I'm going to guess that this is because he didn't rematch Flores after the "No Contest"

I agree that he's had a horrible management team but should that matter in regards to his status as a belt holder? Please elaborate as much as you can disclose.

He's earned very little for the WBA, his promoter earns nothing for the WBA, TV networks don't want him, the WBA has tried to get rid of him before and now they finally had their chance. WBA rules say you lose your belt if you lose a non-title fight. The WBA does have discretion and a Haymon or a Hearn would have enough influence to keep the belt, but why is the WBA going to do Rigo or Roc Nation any favors when Rigo is a money pit?

I still want to see Rigo vs Santa Cruz... at this point, Leo has no excuse for ducking. I mean, he never did, but he was one of the few duckers I sort of gave a pass to because his brother has lupus and I assumed he felt pressure to play it safe and have a long career to support his family, even if as a fighter he would like to take more risks. But when you do stuff like that, you are always harming someone else in order to do better by yourself, and that someone was Rigo. To help his own family, Leo denied Rigo the chance he had more than earned to fight the other best guy at his weight and perhaps become a bigger star to help support his own family.

But now that Rigo is 37 going on 38, and just took a bad loss, I think there really is no more excuse. If Santa Cruz wasnt willing to fight Rigo at his peak because of what I just explained, he at least owes Rigo the chance at age 38 or 39, when it might be more competitive.

Is that why Lebedev was allowed to keep his belt after loosing to gassiev, even though the fight was at cruiserweight and should have been a unification fight? lol

We were never able to get clarification from the WBA over the Lebedev decision, which was ludicrous. We spoke to Gassiev's promoter and he was never able to get clarification from the WBA either. One of the most ridiculous decisions the WBA has ever made.
