Comments Thread For: Crawford Trainer: 'Boatload of Money' to Fight Horn in Australia

NEW YORK Terence Crawford hasn't ruled out traveling to Australia for a shot at the WBO welterweight title. Brian McIntyre, Crawford's trainer and co-manager, made it abundantly clear, though, that Crawford will need to be extremely well-compensated to fight Jeff Horn in the champion's homeland. Crawford is the mandatory challenger for the WBO 147-pound championship, which Horn will defend for the first time Wednesday night against England's Gary Corcoran in Brisbane, Australia.

Crawford should think this carefully. If he doesn't knock out Horn in Austin land and ESPN trolls Jeff's win... boxing bout to get lit up!! Arum has proven no favoritism for any of his fighters. He just wants to make the most profit in champ vs champ bouts

Crawford is gonna go where Bob tells him to.. And from the looks of the situation and how Horn sells in Australia, it's gonna be Australia

So the challenger needs "boadload of money" to consider going to the champs backyard with the champs belt on the line?
Are we not putting the cart before the horse here!!
Methinks you are going to be taking a pay cut here than what your are used to for this opportunity.

Horn vs Crawford will likely take place in Australia because Horn is a crowd puller in Brisbane.

Crawford wakes up, slaps whoever is there in front of him as his "welcome to 147" match. He doesn't even slow down. If he gets a little more cash to do it down under, all good. A little more cash for everyone is a good thing.

To me, it is more about the fact that Crawford gets the training camp and first fight at 147 in, so that we can get to the big match-ups we all want. He has to debut against someone, and big fights don't bother him. Being away from the States at least up's the challenge level. Crawford has never really faced a hostile crowd, so it will be good for him.
