Obviously pros are a different ballgame, but some recognizable pro names on Lomachenko's amateur docket were Oscar Valdez, Felix Verdejo, and Jose Ramirez.

I'm not even making a case for Lomachenko-Davis. I don't care about that fight, it would be a one-sided wipeout. I'm just saying Lomachenko's accomplishments at 23 as an amateur are far greater than what Davis has done at the age.

I don't understand what your point is. We saw what happened when elite level pro boxers entered the Olympics, they got their asses kicked and sent home early.

There's less money in amateur boxing, less publicity and that's why you don't know their names. Your weird conclusions are so wrong and agenda driven, it's just ridiculous.

You're black, am I right? Just guessing. Can you see what I'm saying?

Think about what you're saying! You're impressed that Loma, in 2012, at age 24, beat 19 yr. old Felix Verdejo! Would you be impressed if Geronta Davis beat the top lightweight from Puerto Rico (amateur or pro) if he was only 18 yrs. old? No, you wouldn't. This whole convo is regarding posters saying "why isn't Davis ready to fight Lomachenko," or Floyd is "protecting" Davis! He's doing what he's supposed to do!

Here goes the race thing! Why? This is a U.S. thing! For many years the U.S. was getting their azzes whooped in the Olympics because the Cubans and Soviets were grown MEN fighting our BOYS! That's not telling me a damn thing! Someone just bragged to me about 24 yr. old Loma beating 19 yr. old Felix Verdejo! But if 23 yr. old Geronta Davis was to announce he's fighting the BEST Jr. Lightweight prospect on Planet Earth, but he's only 18, everyone would go ape-**** crazy!

Loma's dad did what he thought was best for his son, and kept him an amateur until he was 24. Floyd is doing what he thinks is best for his guy, who just turned 23 in November! That's protection. NO DIFFERENT!

I never used the word 'impressed' and I gave you Valdez and Ramirez in addition to Verdejo.

By the way, at the age of 21 Mayweather won the lineal SFW title. No one was protecting him because he was a good fighter. If Davis is being protected at 23, he has a lot more to worry about than Lomachenko.

                So I guessed correctly?

Why do you explicitly mention Felix Verdejo (who wasn't even close to Lomachenko's best opponents) when apparently the amateurs are dominated by Cuban and Soviet men?

Wouldn't that mean Lomachenko fought against Cuban and Soviet men mostly and dominated them?

You're lost in your black American agenda, it's so sad.

Let's go back to what I said: 2 former professional world champions went to the Olympics in Rio and got wiped out early. Grown men with world championship fights under their names and belts around their waists. They had absolutely no chance against the amateurs. Don't you realize your whole point of "amateurs aren't as good as pros" is nothing but a lie driven by your agenda?

No duffus, I said loma had ALL the advantages but I was going for Rigo cuz bob tried to play him out. Seems like you are the duffus that wants to avoid the question.

I ignored Ramirez because that fight was a professional fight. As for Valdez, beating him in the Olympics is good, but Mike Tyson loss to Henry Tillman TWICE in the amateurs! Guess what happened in the pros...2:47 in the 1st! Amateurs and Pros are 2 different animals. The real point is Loma's dad "protected" his son, and kept him in the amateurs until 24! It worked for Loma. Mayweather is "protecting" his 23 year old fighter. No difference! Mayweather is extra special, and he LOST in the Olympics! Did he ever lose again...NO! Amateur vs. Pro, BIG DIFFERENCE!

                      1) Who are the "ELITE LEVEL" professionals that lost in the Olympics you were talking about?

                      2) I brought up Verdejo because a poster pointed out that Loma beat Verdejo in the Olympics, as a statement of Loma's great accomplishment, even though Loma was 24 and Verdejo was 19. Henry Tillman beat Tyson twice as amateurs, and got destroyed in the pros; 2:47 in the 1st!

                      3) Cuban and Soviet men are now fighting in the pros, not like in the 70s and 80s! Maybe you're to young to remember! If you're a 25+ year old Cuban/Soviet Amateur (See Teofilo Stevenson) fighting an 18/19 yr. old American, I expect you to win!

                      4) Lastly, Lom's dad kept Loma in the amateurs, because he didn't think he was ready, not because the best boxers in the world were amateurs! Floyd kept Davis away from Loma because he doesn't think he's ready for Loma yet. Why is one thing good, and the other bad!

If you don't like African-Americans, I would highly suggest you follow a different sport! Hockey or Skiing may be more to you're liking! ****ing racist!
