Carlos Quintana too small to beat Paul Williams?

If this whole thing about fighters being too small to fight is the ongoing cry of the week, how did Carlos Quintana win? Quintana was at least 4 inches shorter and had the shorter arms.

Maybe Rigo just was never that good to begin with. His 4 best wins after Donaire are?

Yea dont see size being that much of a factor, it wasnt a physical fight where Loma would impose his strength and size on Rigo by holding and taking punches better
Rigo barely threw because he was bewildered by Lomas footspeed, angles and handspeed particularly the fast double, triple jabs he would throw. He just never had the chance to counter.

The only disadvantage where the weight was concerned with Rigo was that he was probably slower all around, his handspeed, his movement and maybe his ability to pull the trigger.

We have weight divisions, not height divisions.

There's many different things that can effect a fight weight is just one of them.

If you got two identical fighters but one outweighing his opponent by 10+ lbs and put them in a ring, who would likely win?

Skill can overcome a weight disadvantage, but it's still a disadvantage.

Being slower puts one at a disadvantage. Being weaker puts one at a disadvantage. So whats your point? There are pros and cons to everything, even being heavier. A guy with longer arms has a reach advantage but it at a disadvantage on the inside. Smaller guys win all the time. So how did Quintana win? And what are Rigos best wins outside of Donaire?

Dont bother answering, he does not have any. He spent his career fighting nobody.

Weight is a bigger factor than those things. Which is why we have weight divisions. Not height and reach divisions.

Paul Williams was allergic to other southpaws.

What people seem to overlook is that even at 126, Loma still would have had a 10 pound weight advantage on fight night. Rigo is tiny.
