I think Vasyl Lomachenko is the best fighter I've ever seen.

At the time Naseem was seen as an amazing fighter, but so was Mayweather. The prooblem was Nassem was a small guy much smaller than Mayweather.

Naseem was around the same size as Rigodeaux but with a much smaller reach.

His resume is decent of course someone that doesn't know what they are looking at won't see it that way. As i showed you in my previous post HOF fighters were turning down career high pay days to not fight him.

Anyway this discussion wasn't about how good Naseem actually was, it's how good people THOUGHT he was at the time.

People get carried away calling fighters ATG before they actually prove it. Which many are doing with Lomachenko.

It's amateur and you don't have to see him fight pre-pro to realize that he just beat the only other amateur boxer that was even in the discussion of being the best with him, very easily. End of story.

honest mistake, I understand that but to say hes the best amature boxer ever I cant say that because ive never seen him fight there. I only heard stories but there are stories of guys in the amateurs who are better. I can only speak from a professional level as that's what I follow the most

Loma has just under 400 amateur victories with one loss that was avenged. Capped with two gold medals. He's very likely the best amateur ever but of course that doesn't mean he beats any amateur ever, head to head.

Salido weighed more than him but his win over Rigondeaux is to be revered?

                Fck out of here.

Loma deserves a ton of credit, he's got great skills. Not enough pro fights to make these kind of judgments yet though.

And here's where fandom goes wrong. Loma is universally respected and pretty much liked by all boxing fans, and it would stay that way if his fans would slow their roll a little. Let him get 20 pro fights before comparing him to ATGs. And I normally say 30 fights, but Loma has stepped in and fought solid guys right off the bat, so the bar is lowered for fights for him.

I will say that Loma's footwork is stellar, it's his footwork that fighters cannot deal with, his footwork is as good as Joe Calzaghe's was or better. I liked to look of his Saturday too, he can carry more weight, so I think we'll see him all the way up to 140 soon, not sure about 147, but 140 is a cinch for him.

Lomachenko is a stud there is no denying that, to me he is the best boxer in the lower weight classes and overall from a technician stand point.

Lomachenko is certainly comparable to the best boxes and likely always will be. I would put him alongside those best names of recent times not ahead, but maybe one day it will be something to really discuss.

The Salido win was close and the weight wasn't the only factor in the win, obviously.
