  • Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: Gary Russell Really Doesn't Want a Rematch With Me

NEW YORK One potential rematch for Vasyl Lomachenko was ruined Saturday night, but that didn't stop him from taking questions about another. Orlando Salido, the only boxer to beat Lomachenko, retired following his technical-knockout defeat to fellow Mexican Miguel Roman on Saturday night in Las Vegas. But Lomachenko says he would fight Gary Russell Jr. again if Russell were willing to move up from featherweight to super featherweight for their rematch.

Wtf has Gary Russell did since losing to Lomachenko but complain about how he doesn’t really like boxing. Lomachenko-Garcia should be next with no catchweight. I’d like Berchelt but since he’s not a big enough name everyone is writing him off

Agreed, but is interesting that GRJ was one of the only guys to "survive" and win a few rounds.

GRJ is another Gamboa...wasted talent. Who am I to judge though? Maybe he only boxes when he needs money and he don't look the type to flaunt money...I think he's probably living comfortable raking in at least 6 figures/yr

Make it happen! Would love to see Loma beat Russel's ass again!

If none of the major featherweights want to move up to challenge Loma and Berchelt or Gervonta Davis don't step up to fight him with Loma's next fight, then it's time for Loma to move to lightweight. He's in his prime and there is no point in wasting his talents any longer against inferior competition. Walters and Rigo were at least worthwhile matchups on paper, Marriaga and Sosa were foregone conclusions.

Loma is talented enough that it's time to find out just how good he is. Nothing but talented challengers going forward until he's had a few tough fights in a row. Then he can think about easing up!

LOMO is no.1 p4p if he beats M.GARCIA. Not the 37 yr old RIGO who is 2 classes smaller. GARCIA VS LOMO in 2018. Lets push for it.

Would be a one sided beat down. I don’t see nobody beating Loma really.

Frampton Santacruz and Berchelt. These are the only legitimate contenders for Loma. And then Garcia when he moves up but he shouldn't move up now no need to rush
