Marquez took way more damage than Floyd and was outclassed and embarrassed, but never quit.

Rigondeaux got dropped twice by Amasaga and the second time he was hurt bad, and never quit.

Why is it that so many average Joes watching the fight think the Rigo threw the fight?

I don't know what it and what is not, I just know that Rigo just flushed down his career in the toilet. How does he keep living after this? This was his life. He barely got hit, he stayed in the pocket to get hit too. He didn't use any of his skills, he just got there and decided to stay in one place and pull a high guard. First time I've seen him do that. Like, he didn't even try to move.

When was Rigo hurt by Amagasa?
Please tell me which round. The first knockdown was him being off balance because of his ****** side stepping and the second knockdown was him LITERALLY being pushed down on the mat. I'll watch the fight again but I don't think he was hurt.

when a fight gets hyped so much, and youve got people like roy jones saying its the best match up ever, its hard to fathom how one fighter can **** up the event so much.

Average Joes and casuals are more likely to think a fight was fixed.

They think boxing is like Pulp Fiction and that mobsters still run the sport.

Your point don't make any sense cuz casuals don't know how good they both are & would just say Rigo suks period. So if you are not a casual tell me, have you EVER seen Rigo fight like that?

                True.

There are actually far more fixed matches in other sports. A loss in boxing is too costly so for most of the time it's not worthy for fighters to take dives.

It's different in football or tennis when you can lose a game or two and nobody cares.

Once the reflexes are gone it's all down hill from there just look at Roy Jones. Rigo is better off retiring from what I saw last night. It wasn't the weight alone if at all it was too high lvl an opponent that he couldn't react to like he would have in the past he could still cruise on some people and he looks physically solid, but once you're reflexes are gone you're just a piņata waiting to happen.

I don't think he threw the fight but he probably felt very demoralized not being able to pull the trigger like he wanted to in key spots as usual and being that slow.

It was a generalized statement. Casuals and average Joes often say a fight was fixed when things look weird. Some still think Tyson-Douglas was a fix.

A lot of fighters suck and get completely dominated and beaten worse than Rigo, but they don't quit. Rigo was losing clearly, but he wasn't getting embarrassed like Walters was, nor was he taking a serious beating.

Rigo's performance was bizarre I'll admit. Boxing is a strange sport sometimes. Maybe he just realized he got old overnight or maybe he really did hurt his hand and didn't want to continue. But I can't buy into the theory that he threw the fight.
