How many legends were fighting at 135 and 140 when he was? Or even at 147 for that matter? Pacquiao is the only legend currently at 147 and Crawford has been asking for that fight for years. Arum is obviously talking about skill wise and once its all said and done im sure Crawford will have the resume to match Leonard and Hagler and possibly even exceed them, especially of he keeps clearing out divisions

You guys need to read the actual articles, and not just the headlines. Here is what Arum actually said: ”Terence Crawford has a great, great skill level, he is an extremely smart fighter, traditionally, when you look at fighters, like Ray [Leonard], [Marvin] Hagler and so on, he fits right in there with them. The difference between him [Crawford] and Lomachenko is that Lomachenko has a skillset like we have never seen before. Terence Crawford has a skillset that is equal or better, than the best fighters we have seen, but it is not as an unusual skillset as Lomachenko has.”Comment

Thurman barely beat porter, garcia and a washed up robert guerrero and now he's more proven than Crawford? Crawford cleaned out all the top fighters at 135 and 140 including gamboa, ricky burns, ray beltran, postol, and indongo. Thurman was getting worked over at points against diego chaves and got hurt bad with a body shot by callazo. Crawford completely dominated all the top guys he faced which is the difference between a great fighter like thurman and an elite future all time great like Crawford. Crawford would wipe the floor with thurman if they ever fought but it sounds like thurman is scaredComment

But, maybe Crawford has improved since then... just saying, people say that a lot about Crawford, how he has dominated everyone, and then they ask why Kovalev and GGG and guys like that got more credit at similar points in their careers, but the truth is those guys barely ever even lost a round coming up, while Crawford got dominated for 4 in a row. That is the big difference. And that Crawford was not knocking guys out like they were until more recently, at least not as regularly. He used to fight a lot more defensive, like Rigondeaux a bit. It's only more recently that he has shown a more complete game.Comment

I was real impressed by Crawfords win over postol i get it that he was not a special fighter but postol is a tough SOB and he walked through mattyhse and made him quit a lot of posters here including me thought it would be a competitive fight yet bud make him look ordinary and demoralized him with the sheer gap in abilty that made me sit up a bit and think hes a real elite fighter in the makingComment
