It will be a great fight, but WTF Wilder...

He Blessed him with the opportunity?

Ortiz blessed Wilder with a chance to improve his reputation and both he and Povetkin would be the ONLY competition on his resume with a pulse.

    All about that marketing.

    Ortiz vs Wilder
    Povetkin vs Joshua

Then have Ortiz vs Povetkin for total unification.

Wilder is selling this fight well. Good for him. He has more personality than AJ. Hearn wants him to be locked in storage the Brits never hear of him.

It will be great when/if the big mouth gets in there with Ortiz, Joshua, other top HW fighters for the real story of just how many Achilles' heels Wilder has.

As for Ortiz, yes this was an extremely soft touch, and he definitely needs to step it up next time out. Hopefully we'll get that Wilder fight soon. Needs to happen sooner than later.
Wilder was pretty brutal commentating. All he did was talk about how great he is. He was much better in the ring after though. He looked amused by Ortiz’s lack of english skills. He just let him have it. I’m not sure the translator could keep up. Wilder certainly doesn’t look too worried about Ortiz that is for sure. Ortiz reminded me of Sam Peter “who necks! who necks!”

I'd never watched Ortiz fight before tonight. Definitely has some power and understands the importance of body work, but this Martz with poor footwork and not great skills at heavyweight hit Ortiz with two decent rights (that had no effect whatsoever) during the course of this shellacking. I don't know if Ortiz had some ring rust or just had no respect for the guy and let him get away with those two, but if he's that easy to hit (and again, he wasn't hit a lot, I was just surprised two rights got in with little effort), Wilder will knock this guy out inside of 5.

This is how we know your positions are weak. You always resort to lies and personal attacks.

Wilder vs Duhaupas did over 3 million viewers. Wilder vs Washington did over 2.5 million viewers. Wilder vs Arreola did over 2.5 million viewers.

Even if we just look at recent American heavyweight world champions, Wilder is clearly more well known than Briggs, Martin, Rahman, Brewster, Ruiz and Byrd. So without even going back that far through history, your position is already ridiculous.

How the **** did i lie? I said "probably".

I suppose you "clearly" have the numbers to back up this claim? The only one on that list i'd say he was clearly more known than is Martin.

This would be one of those rare times I'd be more intrigued by Wilder's comments than his potential career.

I think they should do it on PPV, that would help Wilder. You see the dumbfucks that said Joshua/wilder should happen next have zero brains, that fight needs building and every action from Wilder tells us he believes that too. Now he is building the Joshua fight not only for legacy but for the money that they would both generate.

That fight after another 2 fights would have reach maximum hype, and both boxers would be ready to cash it out. It’s not about letting it marinate, it’s about selling and maximise its potential and if those two are the best then they shouldn’t lose before they both meet towards the end of 2018.

Wilder himself is doing a great job of selling himself and I hope he fights Ortiz next instead of Breazeale.

I don’t know where you get that from, Hearn wants that fight to happen. He wants the financial of it to be maximised. Wilder is tall, black, can talk, KO power, American etc, all the ingredients that you want in an HW to sell a fight. Losing to Parker is more bad for Hearn/Joshua than losing to the American.

This is why Hearn said if this guy was one of his fighters then everyone on the American road would know who he is. Which means more money to meet the demand of each boxer and more money for the greedy promoters. If Wilder keep selling himself to American then maybe they have a chance of getting this Joshua fight made in America after all.
