Comments Thread For: Jose Ramirez-Amir Imam to Take Place March 17 at MSG Theater

NEW YORK It had been assumed that Irish featherweight prospect Michael Conlan would return to The Theater at Madison Square Garden to fight on St. Patrick's Day next year. Conlan (4-0, 4 KOs), a 2016 Olympian from Belfast, Northern Ireland, made his pro debut before a capacity crowd at The Theater last St. Patrick's Day. He'll fight there again Saturday night, when he'll take on Argentina's Luis Fernando Molina (7-3-1, 2 KOs) in a six-round encounter ESPN will televise as part of the Vasyl Lomachenko-Guillermo Rigondeaux undercard (9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST).

Hopefully this will be a good one! PBC needs to give Omar Figueroa Jr. some love @ 140. Figueroa vs. Granados @ 140! Make it happen!

Hell no im tired of seeing that dude Granados. He needs a easy fight that would be 3 losses in a row for him. Figueroa fighting at welterweight now anyway. Too fat for 140. Bring on Berto next for Omar. DÀMN I should be a promoter

What!! This kid just drew almost 14,000 in his hometown of Fresno, CA. Why the hell wouldn't he fight for the title there? Imam is from NY. It's a home fight for him. This makes no sense for Ramirez.

Omar said he's going back to 140 after his last fight vs. Guererro! Granados is good, but fighting at the wrong weight! Those 2 would go to WAR!

Unbeaten Omar Figueroa (27-0-1, 19 KOs) returned to the ring in emphatic fashion with a third-round stoppage of former champion Robert Guerrero (33-6-1, 18 KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions on FOX and FOX Deportes Saturday night from the newly-renovated NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The show was the first major boxing event to take place at the Coliseum in 31 years.

Why Imam is getting this title fight? After his loss to Granados he only fought with three journeymans.
I think Ramirez can beat Imam, he is not very skillfull fighter, but can give a good pressure.

He said that was his plans, but he also said that after his fight with Antonio DeMarco too.

The same reasons why Stiverne got a title shot.
Imam is a Don King fighter and they are fighting for the WBC title.
