  • Comments Thread For: Thurman: Won't Be as Easy for Crawford at 147 as It Was at 140

Keith Thurman didn't use the word "relevant" this time, but he was again adamant about Terence Crawford needing to prove himself as a welterweight. Thurman told co-hosts Randy Gordon and Gerry Cooney during SiriusXM's most recent "At the Fights" broadcast that Crawford is going to have a tougher time thriving as a welterweight than some might think. The unbeaten WBA/WBC welterweight champion has competed mostly as a welterweight since he turned pro in November 2007, whereas Crawford's next fight will mark his welterweight debut.

lol. Let's see how "relevant" thurmans next opponent is. All he seems to be doing nowadays is finding reasons to not fight spence and now Crawford

Why is so hard for these guys to fight each other? All these guys under Haymon refuse to fight each other so it doesn't matter what Crawford does, they are going to keep making of excuses why he doesn't deserve a fight against them! That's the worst thing about Haymon coming into the boxing game and signing all those fighters. His top guys fighting each other are far in between.

You wouldn't have this excuse making between the top guys if you have one unified champ! Having a belt only gives you a reason to avoid fighting other Champs because major belt organizations don't rank current Champs from other organizations.
