Will Rigo become like Walters post fight? An inactive hype job?

I think they will just rid themselves off Rigo and move onto someone else. I give some of them credit they have stuck to their guns and predicted an absolute massacre win for Rigo on Saturday so to those people the weight isn't a factor nor is the age since it clearly isn't into their handicapping of the bout. But, they too will be reluctant and give him on Rigo rather than praise Loma. I guess that's what happens when the hatred is real.
It can go both ways. There's a ton of hypocrisy but the most adamant I've seen are the one's that praise Crawford's wins against Gamboa (way bigger size diff and even bigger layoff) and Postol (about 20 days less layoff) as great wins but **** on the Walters win despite predicting an easy win for the Axe-Man. They also refused to believe mid 30's washed up Oscar was off 12 months or almost 39 year old washed up Nosley was 15 months inactive for Floyd.
In short, 20% will overrate the win, 20-30% will rate it accordingly (a good win but not earth shattering or era defining) and 50% will totally foam at the mouth and discredit and most of those are the folks claiming an easy win for Rigo and that Loma is an overrated white hype fraud. Some of them changed their picks from the day before it was signed to the day it was signed (1 day made a difference) and some are still sticking to their guns.Comment

Yeah, I'd say every fighter has at least 30-40% who claim he is a bum. I've seen Hagler, Mayweather, Marquez, Duran, Hearns, Lomachenko, Crawford, GGG, Pacquaio, Chocolatito labelled as bums by more than a few. All of these guys are either in the HOF or will be guaranteed.Comment

lay off the crack then, MF.Your post made no sense whatsoever. Lay off the Vodka buddy.
My post was about stating facts, which I did, not about discovering whose fault it is. Unlike you, I couldn't care less who wins, I simply see the fight for what it is, a physical mismatch on paper.
The rest of your post about Rigo running, throwing two punches per round, being unknown, me blaming the fans (??) is totally off topic.
all of the sudden he states facts here. we can see age and weight differences ourselves, when the fight starts..Mr.Obvious.Last edited by Ogecca MaMa; 12-06-2017, 02:35 PM.Comment

p4p is inherently subjective - you cannot possibly look at it in a singular objective way.
*p4p based off resume (which is subjective, because you have to equate which opponents are superior to others)
*p4p based off skill (Loma and Rigo pass te eye test / skill test by making otherwise world class fighters look amateurish)
*p4p based off of dominance (GGG has dominated his division, the argument could be his opposition are weak which I agree with to an extent)
Loma has had an incredible start to his pro career with world titles and clowning world class opposition, and if Rigo can move up in weight and beat him he deserves a top p4p spot IMO.Comment

No, all the people who spend every day of their lives raging against him will suddenly convert and praise him to the heavens. All of us who follow boxing know that's exactly how it goes, every time.
Here on planet earth beating Rigo would certainly boost Loma's rep in the short term, depending on how he did it of course. And that's probably the core of the matter. Rigo is a 40+ year old bantamweight. He has godlike ability and has never come close to losing, so beating him clearly is significant for sure. But I'm not sure if it's a Grade A win in the long term. Can't ignore that age and size difference.Comment

Like I said in another thread, as good as this fight is, it resolves nothing. No, all the people who spend every day of their lives raging against him will suddenly convert and praise him to the heavens. All of us who follow boxing know that's exactly how it goes, every time.

If Loma beats Rigo, he'll have beaten a bloated 37-year old featherweight with less than 20 fights to his name that has a rep for getting dropped.
If Rigo beats Loma, he'll have beaten a guy who already lost to Orlando Salido.
As far as P4P, I can abide by saying either guy winning puts them Top 10. I can't abide by saying either guy winning puts them #1. Give me a break.Comment
