Comments Thread For: Haye Vows Destruction, Aims To Do a 'Joshua' Job on Bellew

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, the heavyweight rematch between Tony Bellew and David Haye has been rescheduled for May 5. Former cruiserweight world champion Bellew and ex-heavyweight title holder Haye had been due to renew their rivalry on December 17, only for the fight to be postponed after the latter tore his bicep in an accident on a stairwell.

The only destruction I am seeing is that of his own body. He is falling to pieces.

Haye is basically the Black Knight in the Monty Python sketch.

He was just saying that if he wants a shot at fighting Joshua and proving himself a real contender to fight Joshua, then he has to deal with Bellew very easily, like Joshua would i.e putting in an easy dominant performance like the no.1 HW would/should deal with Bellew.

He only used Joshua's name because he's considered arguably no.1 in the division and the biggest name. If it was someone else, he would have used their name as the example.

Haye can crack though, that's for sure. You have to give him at least a real punchers chance against any current HW champ. I think he's done now though. If somehow he even gets back to 75% of what he was, i still wouldn't write him off beating someone like Joshua.

Joshua is there to be hit. Wlad had the style and tools to not let Haye really connect on him but Joshua doesn't have that. Haye gets a lot of flack for the Wlad fight but it was just a stylistic nightmare for him and it's not like Wlad did much in the fight either, he was very very wary of Haye. Haye is dangerous.
