Comments Thread For: Trainer: Sadam Ali 'as Good as Any Elite Fighter on the Planet'

NEW YORK One of the few men who always believed Sadam Ali could thrive at boxing's elite level is convinced the newly crowned WBO super welterweight champion has now proven that to the world. Andre Rozier, Ali's longtime trainer, thinks Ali demonstrated by upsetting Miguel Cotto on Saturday night that he is as good as any welterweight or junior middleweight in boxing. Ali and his handlers said following his surprising, unanimous-decision win against Cotto at Madison Square Garden that the Brooklyn native will take his time in determining if he'll stay at 154 pounds or move back down to 147 pounds for his next fight.

Andre Rozier is one of the best boxing trainers out there, glad to see his fighter do well.

The advice Rozier was giving Ali between rounds reminded we of what he was telling Jacobs in between rounds against GGG.

always been a fan of sadam since the Santana fight...against Vargas I think he lost focus there and paid for it..sometimes it takes a loss to find your feet..glad he got the victory over a legend Miguel cotto..he beats Vargas in a rematch anytime as long as he got his mind intact in the fight..he'll win..Andre rozier has helped him a lot along the way..all the best to those folks

Sadam Ali is a c level fighter. You’re lying if you think otherwise. There was nothing impressive about his win. If Golden Boy was smart they’d put him in with Matthyse.

BROOKLYN (Rozier), you know I love you, but Sadam beat a 37-yr old man with a torn bicep. Let's not get it twisted. I suggest Sadam goes back to 147, where there's better NAMES, instead of campaigning at 154, where there's better FIGHTERS! If Sadam can get a big payday fighting Liam Smith or Kell Brook, do it! But stay away from J-Rock, DeLoach, Gallimore, Harrison, Lubin, Hurd, Lara, and Charlo! CONG****!

Ali better enjoy this fight while it lasts. Hopefully this can be the fight he needed to reach his full potential. He still has a lot to learn. He might want to take a tune up fight next to work on his skills before jumping in with guys like Charlo, Hurd and Lara.
