  • Comments Thread For: Eubank Jr. to George Groves: You Will Not See the 12th Round!

He's not Jamie Cox. That was among the messages Chris Eubank Jr. delivered to George Groves at a recent press conference. Groves knocked out Cox to reach the semifinals of the World Boxing Super Series' super middleweight tournament, but Eubank promised Groves he is in for a far different fight when they met face-to-face during a press conference in Manchester, England.

All this tough talk and bonkers Eubank seems scared. He was not being such a motor mouth before Yildirim match.

That probably has more to do with Yildrim not being able to speak English and therefore more difficult to create some animosity. Ditto Abraham. Jr's always been outspoken. This fight is way bigger than any he's been in, so he's opening his mouth more. He strikes me as being supremely confident that he's gonna do to Groves what he claims he did in sparring. Me, I see it as a 50-50. Leaning towards Groves but Eubank has several things in his favour, not least stamina and youth.

I think that's Eubanks best shout - take him in the later rounds and try and drawn him

He won't be able to slug it out with groves that's for sure . Groves has proven power as shown against froch .

Eubank throws quite wide with his punches and so does groves

        Should be a good scrap

Notwithstanding my indifference for Groves, how I'd love if he knocked Eubank Jr out cold.

Hope Groves beats him! Need to ise his jab a bit and catch jr when he tries to get inside.

On the other hand Jr is relentless(although against weaker opposition) and may just smother him and win mid-late rounds

Lol, there's always at least one BJS Fanboy that watched a different fight to everyone else including the judges who gave SPLIT decision.

When I first watched it I gave it to Eubank, after a couple of times I was able to score it for BJS but only just. Eubank was alseep in the first half of the fight compared to his normal output and Saunders did a good job of neutralising him and outboxing him. Second half of the fight of the fight was all Eubank with around 10 seconds of each round with any activity from BJS.

The more I read BJS Fanboy comments on here the more I think it's one of his Gypsy family or even himself trying to boost his ego.

You can't take the win way from him but to call it a humiliation says a lot about the person making the comments and their apparent lack of boxing knowledge.

It wasn't worth seeing the fight again so I have only my first impression Jr won the fight.
Let's hope LeMule leaves no conscious doubt

Froch has said Eubank has taken his hardest shots in sparring and smiled and kept coming forward. He doesn't see how Groves can win the fight when his engine is suspect, and he won't be able to hurt Eubank.

Groves has power of course but so does Eubank. When was the last time Groves concussively knocked out a big super middle like Yildrim?

He seems to dining out on a flash knockdown on iron chinned Froch.
