Cong**** to Ali. He had a great gameplan and stuck to it. He is very fast and skilled decorated amateur and Olympian. Was winning the vargas fight before he got caught and never recovered. He didn't make that same mistake last night stayed discipline.

He was losing the Vargas fight pretty handily until the stoppage. I don't think he was up on a single scorecard.

I think the added weight might have helped him because even against Johan Perez he was still getting buzzed. I was surprised Cotto couldn't hurt him badly even before the injury.

Close fight either way.

I said before he got caught. He took major punishment the final 2 rounds dropped twice in each round before the fight was stopped which skewed the final scorecards. Myself and many others had him winning the fight early at worst the fight was dead even. Then he got caught hurt badly and never recovered. He fought less aggressive but more smart and disciplined then the vargas fight. Cotto had less opportunities to land the shots vargas landed I could clearly see the adjustments Ali made this time around.

just skimmed through the fight...he probably would have won if it wasnt for the injury i read about in the article , seems he sustained it during the 8th ,but these things happen in boxing

im kind of surprised ali was able to hurt cotto more than vice versa...because cottos punch resistance isnt awful especially early and alis has a suspect chin especially late

Ali RAN LIKE A COWARD. Disgraceful performance. He was fighting an old Cotto, on the biggest stage of his life to sell himself as a top fighter and he ran scared the entire fight. Cotto won that based on manliness alone. I would destroy Ali in a ring and im not even a boxer but I got balls.

The injury didnt have much to do with it mate, he was rocked badly in the 2nd round and would of been KO'd but Ali didnt follow up.
He was badly wobbled on about 4 other occasions too.

Cotto looked like sh it from the beginning. Timing off, no snap and punch resistance WAY suspect to a guy with 14KOs in 30 fights.

Came in light @ 151lbs for the weigh-in... looked nothing like the guy who fought a good fight against the bigger Kameguai a few months back.


But yeah, he should retire.
