    LOL

Only in your mind Morales lost that fight.

And with Barrera was not anything clear. Their level was too similar and all the fights were close and very competitive. No shame on that, the same Márquez had a lot of problem with a worst Barrera
Morales is my favorite of all time. Guty beat him the first fight.

Cotto has been in more World Title fights against Undefeated fighters then Marquez

Cotto: Mayweather, Trout, Foreman, Quintana, Malignaggi, Torres, Pinto, Maussa- 8
Marquez: Bradley, Floyd (not a title fight), John- 3

Cotto has 6 wins vs undefeated fighers in world title bouts, Marquez has only 1

Cotto's also been in more World Title Fights against undefeated fighters then Floyd/Pacquiao combined

      Cotto: 8
Pacquiao: Mayweather, Bradley, Algieri, Lucerno- 4
      Mayweather: Hatton, Corrales, Canelo- 3

And, people have this fantasy that he "destroyed" Pac all 4x. For some reason, people can't be honest about the guy.

I'm not against Marquez so I don't want to waste a lot of time arguing against the guy, but I still feel that he's been highly overrated, for the exact reasons I've explained before. People see me criticize fan arguments and think I'm attacking the fighter (AJ, Floyd, Golovkin, Loma, etc). Being anti-hype is different than being against a certain fighter.
marquez's weight jump is different from guerreros

marquez was really a career feather weight,

he had like 2 fights at lightweight lol

guerrero is actually larger than mayweather too

        bradley fight,

marquez outlanded bradley in power punches and got a split decision

and dude was like 40 years old fighting a prime bradley

so yeah it is somewhat of a moral victory

and has wins against 2 all time greats

Cotto also has that stigma of fighting injured fighters

Marquez also has wins against two all-time greats, Cotto doesn't have one. The closest to a great fighter was Mosley, but Mosley was not a defending champion and had won like 6 of his last 11 fights leading to the Cotto contest. Martinez will be in the hall of fame but he was seriously eroded by that point. Now, Barrera wasn't in his prime either but he was on a great run and coming off some excellent victories and performances.

Marquez also at least partially unified two divisions, Cotto not one. Marquez gained recognition as the #1 in 3 weight classes whereas Cotto was never considered to be the #1 in a single weight class.

Marquez also beat a guy who destroyed Cotto as a common opponent reference both lost to Mayweather but for Marquez it wasn't a fair fight given the weight rise.

Marquez was never stopped. Cotto was stopped twice. All but two of Marquez' defeats were disputed by many whereas all of Cotto's were decisive.

There's stats and facts that go Marquez' way too. I think what stands out beyond what is on paper is that Marquez was the superior boxer and he accomplished more. Cotto was marketed much better whereas nothing came easy for Marquez. He was "Just another Mexican fighter", whereas Cotto was "The next Trinidad" from the get go hence why his career was filled with more vacant belt wins and less unification wins (than Marquez). Marquez had to sit back as the #1 contender for 3 years, get robbed against Norwood, beat all the other contenders and then win his title and by that time he was already 30.

It was a close one and I'll re-watch it again soon but Espadas seemed to win a close one. 115-113. He even hurt him a little in the last round. Morales didn't look into that one.

I watched it back when it happened and then a few years ago and both times I felt Espadas did enough.
