Totally agree. In fact, it may be more interesting in 2018 than when it didn't happen over the last couple of years if Stevenson fights and defeats Badou Jack.

I know Stevenson is pushing up some serious age, but he sure seems fresh in his fights. If by some miracle Kovalev/Stevenson actually happened? I am in.

It won't, by the way, but if it did....

Hundreds of thousands to not fight repeatedly. Why should we feel bad for Eleider again?

This is a disgrace for boxing! Boxers are free to fight whoever they want for money but they shouldn't held a championship belt hostage.

I can't believe he took the step-aside...again! I hope he fights Marcus Browne! That would be a good fight!

Eleider Alvarez doesn't make a lot of money, so when Stevenson keeps extending the negotiating process ie. keeps low balling Alvarez, and remains noncommittal to fight, that's more time that Alvarez spends outside the ring and the less money he makes in a year.

It's a bullying tactic by Stevenson.

He accepted the step aside fee because he was desperate and out of options.

If Stevenson had any honor, he would've fought Alvarez by now.
so alvarez gets the shot and the money?
dude how long have u been watchin boxing?
            foh
steveson fought for his title at 20% of the purse and possibly less..alvarez has no hunger and only cares about his 0 and how much he can make to move out the way..

it would be the third time, but the joe smith jr fight with adonis steveson fell apart earlier this year

he's the step aside king..the wbc shouldnt be allowed to hold up the rest of the rankings bc he has no interest in being champion

how do ppl complain about jacobs not wanting 25% as the mando then agree with alvarez and sympathize with him so he can act like he's worth the lionshare or anything other than 25%

yall making a lot of exceptions around this mf

Of course it benefits both Haymon and Floyd to do this. It's a win win situation can'T you guys see? It's a good time for Jack to get the ball rolling better now than later. No one is complaining, and surely Floyd and Haymon drinking scotch and McD's over such a lovely setup

I have always loved Stevenson as a skilled, dangerous fighter, but hated his circumstances as champ. Don't care who ducked who, but facts are while most of the light HW division has been fighting, Stevenson's best challenges (Bellow, Cloud, Dawson) were years ago.

Please let it be Jack or someone with a pulse.
agreed here, but IN FACT..williams jr and karpency were rated top 10 during their fights with adonis...ppl just wanted to see top 3 so they made it seem like he was facing the worst ppl possible

There is a reason why Stevenson only fights cans. Jack will expose him as a one dimensional boxer, take away that left and you take away the man.
