Tan since the defeat respect were its due
Chisora just got beat by a nobody which proves how limited he is.
Whyte done nothing, except prove he's c grade domestic level bum.
But somehow you still buy the hype.

Agree with Cotto on this one. Tito shouldn't blow up his or Jr's ego. Top fighters from any country get to where they are mostly because of their talent. I say mostly because sometimes you have cases where they'll force a guy to the top but it's sink or swim. Cotto was one of those great fighters from Puerto Rico that earned his spot and remained there because of his raw talent.

his "win" over wright was a farce. He was heavily hyped by HBOs and the judges bought into that. That decision screwed winky big time and sent him to ESPN land for years until mosley accepted a fight with him.

With that being said, cotto obviously had to do his own part in order to he a success and draw crowds. It wouldnt just happen because he was from PR and was coming in after titos generation. I myself went from attending Trinidad fights at msg to then going to every fight cotto had at msg And a large part of the reason I began attending cotto fights was because of the impact and crowd that tito drew in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Paved the way - This expression alludes to paving a road so it is easier to travel on.
So what your implying is that Trinidad made it easier for people to buy Cotto PPV fights. He made it easier for People to be fans of Cotto. C'mon, you have to see how silly that is.Last edited by KnickTillDeaTh; 12-02-2017, 12:55 PM.

Explain to me why Arum hasn't signed every single Puerto Rican boxer he can find. You laid 2 facts. However, saying Trinidad paved the way for Cotto is purely an opinion. Your logic is based on your personal experience - But as I said, making such a statement assumes that everyone who watches, purchases PPV, goes to a Cotto fight, does so because of Trinidad. If you think about it you will see how false the notion is. I'm Puerto Rican, never was a fan of Trinidad (watched his fights because I'm a fan of boxing), always felt he was overrated. When I watch Cotto, I don't have a single memory of Trinidad, I'm not driven by nostalgia of Trindad, I would watch or Purchase any PPV that Cotto's on, and it would have nothing to do with Trinidad. Boxing is a national sport for Puerto Rico, if someone rises up to the levels that Cotto has, or looks to be on that road, Puerto Ricans will support that fighter, and it has nothing to do with Trinidad. Why don't you give credit to Don King for realizing there was an untapped market? Trinidad didn't decide to fight on PPV. If you want to say that Trinidad was the first Puerto Rican fighter to show an ability to sell PPV, that's completely fine, but again I think some people speak with out knowing the definition of what they say.
