Luis Ortiz enrolled in the WBC Clean Boxing Program's ("CBP") out-of-competition anti-doping testing by virtue of being rated in the top 15 in the Heavyweight division of the WBC world ratings. On September 28, 2017, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) reported to the WBC that Mr. Ortiz' "A" sample taken on September 22, 2017, yielded adverse analytical findings for Chlorithiazide and Hydroclorothiazide (the "Finding").

    Wilder fans going to cry.

Ortiz had legit medication given to him in the ER. Of course he should get a pass. It was a simple misunderstanding.

Have all got passes under the wbc clean program. Hmmmm is Sulimain giving his friends passes? Niery B sample wasn’t even tested.

Everything is a misunderstanding when it comes to your favorite boxer...fighting for a world title, the anti doping contract is in front of you and your team, and you drop the ball??? How serious is high blood pressure?? Why would you not disclose that?? I guess fans will be fans

You don't know that. Most drug cheats have a plausible excuse. If you start excusing "forgetting" to list substances, you're helping a lot of drug cheats get away with it.

The obvious answer is usually the right one, and in this case, it's sad that Ortiz is getting a pass. Anyone with their eyes open in this situation can say with reasonable conviction, that he's using it for the exact reasons why it's banned.

If he doesn't disclose it, he either gets away with it and no one is the wiser, or he gets caught and falls on his ready-made excuse. If he does disclose it, he has to fall back on that excuse immediately.

He played the percentages, and the WBC has let him get away with it.

No wonder this sport has such a massive drug problem - there's hardly any deterrent.

Do drug cheats get their drugs from the ER?

Are the doctors at the ER PED suppliers?
