I don't understand. How would kneeling or protesting get him paid? And what it does matter who raised him or where he was raised?

I have my own criticism of Kaepernick. However, none of it has to do with his protest. That's actually the only thing I find credible about him right now. You don't decide to do what he did because you thought it would get you an award or any positive feedback. He had to know this was going to make him pariah. It certainly wasn't about to get him paid.

"The Muhammad Ali Legacy Award is given to those who make the world a better place," Sports Illustrated executive editor Steve Cannella told USA TODAY Sports.

Has Kaepernick really made the world a better place? Seems like he really only made himself unemployed. And now he has won an award. Way to go, Kap! You're the best!

If most of these posters here were alive when Ali was able to box and talk , they'd hate him. Ali only really got public support when he couldn't talk anymore.

If he burned or desecrated the flag, or spat on military personnel then it would be another story.
America is the light but there are so dark spots that some people want to ignore. Kaepernick is simply trying to shed light on those dark areas so everyone gets a fair treatment.
I’d love to talk to anybody and everybody about the read-option football play. And help explain to them that the attempt to reinvent the game of football is what brought all... of this about. Almost all would not understand though.

"Disrespecting the anthem" is what people are outraged by, one person brings up having your daughter ****d as a comparison and claims he's "pissing on the anthem"...wow.

People had even stronger reactions to Ali refusing the draft, how right they all thought they were at the time.
That would be me, thanks for noticing, I'm trying really hard to understand the outrage against Kaepernick and it's all emotional outburst and triggering rather than a crime he has committed. I respect Colin so much for his bravery and the subject he chose to bring awareness to. And I'm just finding out he has given millions in charitable contributions. It's similar to Ali's refusal to participate in Nam.

After all he first started the protest in the Preseason of 2016. It wasn't that long prior to the start of the preseason that Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were killed by police. Those were just the latest incidients of that kind of thing happening and maybe you didn't notice but it was kind of controversial. But of course it was all about patting himself on the back.

                ****ing hater.

hes willing to stand for the anthem if a team will sign him

Free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who remains unsigned after sitting or kneeling during the national anthem throughout the 2016 season, said he plans to stand if signed by an NFL team.

Who cares? The guy wants to play and he knows his stance has scared teams off of him. He's still working with the community and trying to make things better. He started the conversation and it grew beyond just him. Mission accomplished.

youd be hard pressed to find a celeb/athlete who DOESNT give millions to some charity. they get it back with tax write offs and future endorsements.

i dont get how people can be so blind when it comes to colins sudden and LIMITED awareness.

did cops just now start shooting people ?!?!?!? REGARDLESS OF SKIN COMPLEXION ?!?!?!?
what about an even worse crime...of the black on black nature ????

no one seems to give a F U C K about that. i guess blacks arent expected to treat each other civilly
