The di ckhead partner owned the building for the restaurant, the places next to us, some of them? 30k a month

I don't know how those numbers add up! I mean they do at a certain point, i would rather be the landlord though... "Sure Mr Floyd I bet your recipe for duck will bring em all in sign on the dotted line." Seriously I tell all restaurant aspirants to BUY the property they want to locate in or, make the landlord rich because on a commercial lease they can raise your rent at any time.

Regardless, glad I got to visit the place and meet Larry. Glad he got rid of this dead business too. Restaurants are bank drainers. Can't believe Floyd hasn't opened one yet.

We opened a place in san francisco with 2 partners and myself as the chef. The one guy turned out to be a sociopath...I caught it early got out of there and begged my friend (partner #2) to do the same, which he did not unfortunately for him...
I frequent the restaurant scene quite a bit. Some of my friends have been in the industry. It’s a tough biz, real risky, even for someone who knows what they’re doing. You live and die by the quality of your food. Plenty of choices in most places. But ambience, service and price are also major factors. If you can’t make a simple burger right, you’re not gonna last. And the host making customers uncomfortable isn’t gonna help. Haha

Those are heart attack numbers. You can buy a house for 30k.

As much as a lot of your threads are absurd... I'll back you on the fact that those are indeed real pictures not ripped from the internet and pretty cool. Backhanded compliment I know but... oh well.

All good my friend. I play around a lot and I know that casts doubt on the occasions when I'm serious, but real ones know whats real and what is satire. Thank you!

Yup. people who claim to be savy investors, will throw money at a celebrity chef, restaurant, after being told the place will not even show a profit (Return of investment) for ten years... and then laugh at a Mobile home park that has stable tenants, room for expansion and brings in good money every month.

One of the VERY few tv shows I watch is Kitchen Nightmares with G Ramsey. It amazes me how expensive restaurants are to run while profiting in such small increments. Seems like they're either a home run or a triple play. Not much in between. Very high stakes (no pun intended)

The profit margins are sh ite. They hire illegals instead of chefs because basically they have to. The IRS started with the ten percent out no matter what the server brings in, so to get front of the house cost the owners more, food has gone up in price and of course the real estate.

I would have a food car, I would franchise a place, and for my lovely wife I would open a small bistro, a few tables, small menu, GYM UPSTAIRS! haha hell yeah, but thats it, no restaurant with partners.
