I think this says more about modern prize fighters than spence. You mean to tell me all the dangerous fighters and killers of the history of boxing have had multiple fights a yr but errol fookin spence can only fight once a yr because nobody will step up? Lol

Who needs a fight against an ageing Cotto "with strings attached".
I bet those "strings" included signing over his life, his kids, his pets etc etc etc.

I guess Mikey Garcia did not like those "strings"either when he had discussions about the Cotto fight.

He called out Thurman, Porter and Garcia. Besides Garcia who is still in hiding, Thurman and Porter both said they don't want to fight this guy next year.

Lamont Peterson beat Danny Garcia very very badly.
This is a damn good action fight while waiting for other fights to develop.

Somebody explain it to me please. If Lamont had a belt as a welterweight. Why did he have to give it up to fight another welterweight? I'm confused about that part.

Also, you must take into account that he had to wait on Brook after he got his eye broken fighting GGG. After that fight, Spence wanted to fight a top WW instead of some old past-it fighter. He could have fought a Collazo-level fighter in September-November... or he could have waited a few more months and fought a top 5/10 guy in Peterson. He says he will fight 3 times in 2018. Let's see if he can get these guys in the ring.

Peterson had a regular WBA belt (which really doesn't mean anything since Thurman is the super WBA beltholder). Spence can only fight guys ranked in the IBF's top 15 unless they have the major title from another sanctioning body. However, to be in the IBF rankings and eligible for Spence to make a defense against him, Peterson had to drop his regular belt. When he dropped the belt, he could be ranked by the IBF and get the fight against Spence. It is ****** politics, but that is the reason...

after beating brook on foreign soil in front of a massive crowd - THIS - is what showtime provides for errol spence - how disrespectful to fans. no one cares. peterson should be a sparring partner for him.

the fights that should be made for him are:

TERENCE CRAWFORD - hes a champion this is a great fight and spence wins

JEFF HORN - HE TALKS LIKE HES A BIG BALLER spence could have easily gone down to australia and beat him and taken his belt in Q3 or Q4 of 2017.

DANNY GARCIA - competitive fight - spence wins but good numbers

MIKEY GARCIA - he talks alot and says hes his own guy so no problem easily making a fight - spence should call him out and beat him down - whats mikey afraid of?

That's Haymon's own fighters ducking him. Isn't that strange? Porter is due another shot at Thurman, anyway. Why risk it for Spence? Garcia? Yeah.....he doesn't want to face anyone with a pulse. I really haven't considered Peterson a threat since Mattysse wrecked him. Well, I hope he doesn't sit out another year. Maybe he should dump Haymon.

I hope it happens. A guy like Spence shouldn't sit on a shelf in his prime.
