  • Comments Thread For: Bivol: Badou Jack Isn't a Coward; I Just Wasn't Worth the Risk

NEW YORK Dmitry Bivol doesn't think Badou Jack is afraid to fight him. The WBA light heavyweight champion figures Jack just crunched the numbers and determined that it didn't make financial sense to move forward with a high-risk, low-reward fight against him. Jack drew criticism for vacating the WBA light heavyweight title only four weeks after he won it by knocking out Nathan Cleverly on the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Conor McGregor undercard August 26 in Las Vegas.

I think he is right here, Badou Jack has shown that he wants to fight everyone, but if his next fight isn't a title shot then i'm afraid i'll have to be calling the vacating of the title a duck from Jack to Mr.Bivol

Ive seen quite a few interviews from him and he seems like a cool, intelligent guy I like him.

I definitely agree with what he's saying here jack didn't duck him but it's definitely not a fight he'd want to take due to the risk/reward ratio.

I don't blame any fighter for taking the biggest money fights available. But if their next fight isn't a bigger earning fight for them, then it's a duck.

beating a 40 year old man will give you more credit? or a young gun blazing through a certain type of competition as supposed?..Stevenson brings more money I agree with that move..but credit? should he beat Stevenson a lot of people will call him old like they called Klitschko in spite of the lay off Klitschko had..ignorant fans..bivol smashing b/c level competition easily but should he get beat too..they'll say he was too green..but he'll come back fo'sure

              Yeah, fair enough.

Jack has shown willingness to fight good fighters but why fight Bivol now? He's just high risk and very very low reward.

Respect for that. I haven't seen much of Bivol outside of his last two fights.

I understand but it seems like he's got it into his head that the Stevenson fight is a lock. But we all know with Adonis Stevenson big fights tend not to happen.

I'm not that fussed because lhw is such a stacked division right now there's no easy titles to win so unless jack plans on fighting a total bum his next fight should be a good one. There's no excuses in this division not to.

This kid might be made of the right stuff. I need to see more but his recent interviews have shown a fair amount of wisdom and maturity. Can't recall a recent guy talking so plainly and logically about his peers at such a young age. I'm watching everything with him from this point on.
