I thought Gamboa won way more rounds than Harold Lederman did, but nowhere near the rounds that the real judges did. But even with the point deduction for clinching (excellent job - so wish more refs did that) and the knockdown, Gamboa was the cleaner puncher all fight. But he only did it in spurts where as Sosa was on him the whole 10 rounds.

I was leaning Sosa and admit I was surprised Gamboa won, but not a horrid decision after I thought about it.

Gamboa sure is not an exciting fighter though.

He got blown out in the amateurs. This guy will never win against the best in the division. Sosa beat him by pressuring him and making him hold all night. Close fight but he didn't win the fight, it's a shame when guys like Sosa can't catch a break and win a close one. Gamboa has NO Power!

Crawford ruined Gamboa. Prime Gamboa was a beast in the lower divisions.

Gamboa would have brutalized Sosa at the height of his powers and people would be saying that him against Loma is a 50/50 fight. How the mighty have fallen.

He beat a prime Orlando Salido, Jorge Solis, and Daniel Ponce De Leon. He is probably older than his listed age because some Cubans Boxers lied about their age.

Which Cuban boxer lie about their age?

All these Cuban born boxer had a tractable amateur career with easy to know the age.

Maybe you think of Dominican baseball players.

Fight was terrible and Gamboa did not deserve the win.
