Comments Thread For: James Toney To Joshua: Put on Big-Boy Pants, Come Fight in U.S.

Former three division world champion James Toney has pressed on IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) to man up and travel over to the United States to test his skills. Joshua is very interested in fighting in the United States, but admits it's a tough sell because of his growing superstar popularity in the UK.

James Toney was a true throwback fighter of the golden eras. Fought everyone, even took fights in between title fights on ESPN to stay busy.

F**k that fat a ss. Fight in the UK. Wilder has done sh it with his career. AJ is fighting all comers. F**k Wilder and that fat has been. Toney the typical classless bitter ex-champ...running his useless month. Toney was the man, but he's turned into a pooch lately.

James Toney couldn’t of said it any better. Body builder, no chin, over hyped, gas out, paper champ needs to come to US to prove himself against a real fighter and get knocked out by Wider. I have Miller and Ortiz favored to beat this fraud also!

Toney is the man and it's funny when he talks ****. He's kind of wrong about him "needing" to fight in America. I'm not sure fighting in front of empty arenas (like Wilder) is appealing as fighting in full stadiums. I don't know though. Maybe it is.

Toney is a true old-school throwback though. It probably irks him to see so many of today's guys marinating matches, negotiating in the media. He'd just fight.

Wonder if the Wilder fan boys will pick up on the part where he said Wilder wasn't that good yet he seemed to think a 2-0 Joshua was good?

There are 3 different UK fighters who Joshua can analyze when deciding how he wants to be perceived. 1 is Lewis who came to the US and eventually established himself as the top heavyweight of his era. You have hatton who spent most of his career as a hero in the UK, eventually came to the US to face the best, was beaten but was respected for daring to be great. Or Calzaghe who spent most of his career in the UK and waited to the very end to beat a couple of old past prime big names in the us and get recognized as a top fighter who pretty much wasted his prime yrs fighting inferior competition.

Spouting such ill conceived and idiotic drivel appears to be your modus operandi. Go and make love to a farm animal or watch Nascar, both of which are more akin to your cerebral capacity.

James Toney has more boxing DNA and knowledge in his left testicle than all the UK AJ fanboys on NSB put together. Y'all need to listen to the voice of authority.

Like the part where he told aj he'd be a world champ when he was 2-0 and how wilder isn't very good?
